Its all about bringing attention to the problems, talking about them, kneeling, and making grand gestures. That’s the schtick of San Francisco 49’ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He started his kneeling ‘protest’ in the preseason and we wrote scathingly about him several times including here, here, and here. Because you know, he wants to ‘help,’ and give them a ‘voice.’

Grand gestures need followed up by action right? So, he does this…

That’s nice. But when it comes to taking action and exercising one of the most valuable privileges he as an American has in this country… Yeah. No. Nada. Not gonna do it.
That’s correct. He’s sitting kneeling out the election. He hasn’t and won’t vote. Talk about freaking clueless!
Proving yet again that he’s an idiotic diva of marginal intelligence, Colin Kaepernick just announced he isn’t voting for President.

He’s all about Black Lives Matter. Guess who ELSE is palsy walsy with that crowd? You guessed it, the pantsuited wonder!
You know, seriously, for someone who has been howling…er kneeling about changing things, you think he’d realize that change does and can happen at the ballot box from the local to the national level!
Some poor fool whined about respect.
Why is it that yall can respect Kaepernick right to not stand for the national anthem but can't respect someone's right not to vote…

Oh I respect Colins rights as enumerated in our Constitution. But not standing for our National Anthem or refusing to vote isn’t about rights. Its about privilege, honor, and respect. Its about our freedom. Its about exercising our voice. There are citizens in countries around the world who have exactly ZERO rights. They don’t even have the option to vote! In fact, in some places still, if they voice their opinion prison or death can be the result.
Colin, voting is a very tangible way of using your voice to make change. Its really too bad you don’t seem to realize it. Sure, you don’t have to vote for Hillary or Donald, but there are LOTS of people and LOTS of ballot issues in CA that maybe your vote could’ve helped make a difference in some of those lives you want your kneeling protest to help. Bet you didn’t think about that did you?
Let me tell you something, these folks realized and likely still do, how precious it is and how much freedom it gives one to have a voice and be able to use it in the public square and in the ballot box without repercussions.
Colin, you certainly have the freedom and the choice granted with that freedom to not vote. Obviously you’ve chosen that route. But I have to tell you, that choice pretty much renders your argument for making meaningful change…moot.
