#ReleaseTheMemo Panic Grips The Swamp

The forces that make up The Swamp (Democrats, permanent bureaucracy, and media types) are pushing back hard to convince the White House not to release the memo. You know that one, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s four-page memo alleging abuses by the Department of Justice and F.B.I.

Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA) wrote the memo as a boiled-down version of work product produced by the Committee. Listen to the sneering derision with which the tiny Shepard Smith of Fox News Channel calls Nunez everything but a child of God:

“Midnight dash,” Moscow meddling,” and yeah, Shep, President Trump is going to discuss the ongoing farce of a collusion/obstruction/fishing expedition going on thanks to the collusion of the tower of Jello James Comey, in the State of the Union, right. Aren’t you glad Shepard Smith is a straight-up newsman and not an Op-Ed guy?

The memo could be released as early as this morning.

Adam Schiff (l) and Devin Nunes (r)

Last night, Nunes released the following statement:

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:

“Having stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year, it’s no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with ‘material omissions’ with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, it’s clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.”

That’s important to remember. The FBI and DOJ stonewalled Congress on releasing documents to the Intelligence Committee. Also, Peter Strzok, the FBI investigator who interviewed General Michael Flynn, was colluding with his side chick, Lisa Page, to ensure a Hillary Presidency. The important question is: did these dirty cops use the fake “Trump Dossier” to get FISA warrants to surveil (or wiretap) Trump and his campaign advisers?

Adams Schiff is slightly peeved

Representative Adam Schiff, (D-CA), is #2 on the Select Intelligence Committee and he is stomping his tiny feet and pounding his little fists with teensy tiny rage. From Buzzfeed.com:

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee are accusing Republicans on the panel of secretly making changes to a controversial, GOP-drafted memo alleging abuse of spying laws before sending it to the White House for potential public release.

And, Schiff wrote in his memo:

“After reviewing both versions, it is clear that the Majority made material changes to the version it sent to the White House, which Committee Members were never apprised of, never had the opportunity to review, and never approved,” Schiff said in a letter to committee chairman Devin Nunes, whose staff wrote the memo.
“This is deeply troubling, because it means that the Committee Majority transmitted to the White House an altered version of its classified document that is materially different than the version on which the Committee voted,” Schiff said. “The White House has therefore been reviewing a document since Monday night that the Committee never approved for public release.”

The first clue: Whenever someone calls something “deeply troubling,” it means that his or her own butt is about to get burned. The curtain could get pulled back. The Swamp might get drained.

We, the People of the United States of America have the right to know. Did our Justice Department and our national investigative force, the FBI, use Opposition Research from one candidate to obtain warrants to spy on another candidate? The people of the Justice Department and the FBI have the right to know also. Not only are they citizens of the United States, but this is their passion. The average person in Justice and the FBI are committed to justice for all Americans. If there are a few people at the top who are dirty (and we know a couple are cheaters), the rank and file have a right to know.

The screaming from The Swamp will be loud and angry today. Be ready for it. Expect it. The power and money involved in The Swamp is too large to let go of easily. Release the memo.

    It’s going to be bad.
    Can’t wait!

Toni, you missed the context of Nunes’ statement about “material omissions”: The FBI claimed there were “material omissions of fact” in the memo. Nunes was pushing back at that inanity.

Also, the majority on the committee has come and said yes, indeed, there are changes to the memo. They include a couple of grammatical changes, and two changes requested by the minority and the FBI. So, not only is he full of Schiff about big changes, but they are changes that his people actually asked for! (One of the things I deal with in my job is staffing documents of which I am the author; the amount of silly editing required to get a signature can be mind-boggling.)

Watergate was nothing compared to this. This needs to get DC cleaned up once and for all. And with luck the Bolshevik party becomes little more than an irrelevant 3rd party on a permanent basis because of this.
