Teachers unions. Can’t live with them, would really like to live without them. Especially given how they’ve acted over the last fourteen months.

Public schools in New York City? We’ve discussed that boondoggle here, and here. NY Post’s Karol Marcowicz has done exceptional work shining a bright light on the teacher’s union jackassery for months now. 

Las Vegas schools realized they’d better open quickly given the mental health dangers and because students were threatening to or did commit suicide because of arbitrary lockdowns. San Diego teachers will teach illegals in-person, but not their own students.

Students in Colorado have died because of the lockdowns and yet the Governor gave them a condescending pat on the head. 

Virginia schools won’t reopen because SCIENCE or some such crap. A young lady in Oregon injured herself at a track meet because of having to wear a mask while in a full out run. 

I could go on. 

Needless to say, the teachers unions have truly taken the mask of over this Covid Wuhan flu rot madness. And now, we find out that yes indeed, they were working hand in glove with the CDC on what to mandate when regarding schools reopening. 

The American Federation of Teachers lobbied the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on, and even suggested language for, the federal agency’s school-reopening guidance released in February.

The powerful teachers union’s full-court press preceded the federal agency putting the brakes on a full re-opening of in-person classrooms, emails between top CDC, AFT and White House officials show.

The lobbying paid off. In at least two instances, language “suggestions” offered by the union were adopted nearly verbatim into the final text of the CDC document.

If that doesn’t enrage you, then I don’t know what to tell you. The CDC and the teachers unions held multiple discussions, calls, and emails discussing what the “appropriate” guidance should be for schools reopening. The CDC took the unions “advice” and incorporated it into their guidance, which you can read in full here. 

The teachers unions were so thrilled that gushing thanks were issued to the CDC. 

Here’s the thing, SCIENCE actually shows that the data of masked versus unmasked in the schools is ….not quite what you’d expect. 

“In areas of high community transmission, masked school students saw a case rate (defined here as daily cases per 100,000) 37 percent higher than non-masked school students, or 19 cases per 100,000 in ‘no masks required’ schools vs 26 in ‘masks required’ schools. Even worse, staff experienced a case rate 84 percent worse in masked schools, at 19 cases per 100,000 in “no masks required” schools vs 35 in ‘masks required’ schools. In areas of low or substantial community transmission, students experienced no difference in case rates while staff numbers in “masks required” schools were slightly worse.

Read that again. Well over twelve million students, half of whom were attending IN-PERSON have been tracked from last fall until now. What do we see? Masks DON’T WORK. 

The teachers unions and the CDC will and are ignoring data like this. Instead the teachers unions are mandating complete retrofit of buildings, masks forever, and 100% vaccination rates EVEN THOUGH the kids are not risk factors!! 

It doesn’t help matters when Biden says schools should reopen and had literally said they should do so within 100 days of his taking office. But then his handler, Jill comes out with crap like this. 

Jill…would you just SHUT UP??!! 

Anita Dunn issued a ham-handed nonsensical answer as to why the schools aren’t reopened now and might not open this fall. Want to bet the teachers unions very quickly sent emails to her office with new and improved talking points?

Hey Randi, you didn’t just give “feedback.” What was provided was adopted into the guidance by the CDC with zero changes. That isn’t routine. That’s political games at the expense of our kids.

Well Randi, your quote is actually IN the New York Post article. 

Nearly all the public school teachers are vaccinated. Yet the unions are still on a political power trip. Do the kids matter during all of this? Not to the teachers unions. Don’t get me wrong. I know some EXCEPTIONAL public school teachers, who are back in the classroom. They give 100% to their kids. The teachers unions…do not have our kids as their priority. 

It’s very clear that the teachers unions were intimately involved with the CDC guidance on schools reopening, when they will, and how they will. 

It is time, way past time, for parents to step up and say ENOUGH, and boot teachers unions to the curb.
