Nancy Pelosi may not like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stealing her thunder, but she is sure willing and ready to bow to the politically correct SJW signaling that newly elected Congresswoman Ilham Omar (D-MN idiots) is espousing. You see, that 181 year old rule regarding dress in Congress is SO annoying! The ban on headgear of any kind must go. It’s time for the hijab y’all!
Democrats have drafted a proposal of rules for Congress once they take over the House of Representatives in January. One of the proposals is doing away with a 181-year ban on religious headwear, like hijabs, on the House floor. One of the first Muslim women who was just elected to the House, Ilhan Omar, is spearheading the policy change, ABC News reported.
Ilhan Omar has a serious credibility problem. But that didn’t stop misguided voters from electing to her to Congress. Moreover, that hasn’t stopped her from wanting to stomp all over protocol and common courtesy.

Oh sure, I know we are supposed to be all politically correct and stuff, but this is for the birds. The rules of Congressional behavior on the floor are there for a reason.
“During the session of the House, a Member, Delegate, or Resident Commissioner may not wear a hat or remain by the Clerk’s desk during the call of the roll or the counting of ballots,” the section reads. “A person on the floor of the House may not smoke or use a mobile electronic device that impairs decorum. The Sergeant-at-Arms is charged with the strict enforcement of this clause.”
Oh well, isn’t that something. No headgear of any kind. No cell phones either. Hmmmm… I wonder why? Maybe it’s because the business of the nation is at stake and should be taken seriously?
According to Ilhan and her pals, that doesn’t matter. You see, SHE IS IMPORTANT!! Therefore 181 years of protocol and decorum must be thrown into the ditch because virtue signaling and political correctness!
Oh wait, wut? We are in a time of religious bigotry? Her election to Congress is a rejection of the rampant religious bigotry in the United States? Wowzers. And don’t get me started on her race baiting comments later in the video. Not only that, but she implies that the only reason Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House now is because Nancy has bowed down to Ilhan’s agenda. Which includes diversity for all, but only if you are on the right (LEFT) side of the aisle.

What makes her more special that Congresswoman Frederica Wilson and her crazy hat garb?

Yes, Frederica did her hat thing all the time…except when she was on the House floor. It is there that she adhered to the long-standing rules and protocols.
Quite frankly, Ilhan’s case shouldn’t have standing. She is a Congresswoman plain and simple. She is a newbie and therefore should not be expecting nor demanding any extra special standing. But she is. She’s demanding that even before she truly starts work in January. Ilham Omar is working to upend the rules and protocols of Congress.
For those in Congress, yes Nancy Pelosi, I’m looking at you, bowing to the misguided politically correct gains you exactly nothing in the future. Learn that to your peril.

BTW, there were no women members of Congress until Jeannette Rankin in 1916. Voted against entering WWI, which I can at least sympathize to an extent. And only MoC to vote against entering WWII.

Islam wants to be exempt, because it is not just a religion, it is a political system, not unlike its root, Judaism. Christianity was also a political system, and was the foundation of our European derived civilization. The separation of church and state, for better or worse, ended that and the result has been an ever decreasing influence on the morals (in the broadest sense) of our nations, which have been reduced to geographically recognized land masses. .
