Now why on earth would the DNC require NDA’s to attend a key finance meeting? It’s not like the DNC has a funding problem. Oh, wait.

It’s no secret that money is crucial in politics.

But with the midterm elections looming, the national Democratic Party is trying to keep a secret on how bad its money problems are, according to a new report.

And top officials are being asked to put it in writing.

Isn’t that interesting?? There’s a few things at play here. First, as we reported not long ago, DNC Chair Ken Martin essentially buried the after-action report on the 2024 Election, much to the anger of many key Democrats. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that the information contained in the report was brutal…. to the entire Democrat establishment. 

Secondly, the Democrat party is has swung so far left/progressive/socialist, that rational people are backing away from them. 

Third, you have the Graham Platner implosion. If Maine can’t field a decent candidate who doesn’t have a metric ton of skeletons in their closet, Democrats are in serious jeopardy of losing the Senate. 

Rising leftists have won primary elections for Congress in New York and Colorado. Another progressive fighter is running a strong campaign to win next month’s crucial Michigan Senate primary. Centrist Democrats in the House are already predicting a “war” with the insurgents when they arrive in Congress, a conflict that could dog leaders such as Hakeem Jeffries, who seeks to be the next speaker.

The Democratic establishment needs shaking up. It is weak, and has lost the confidence of its own voters. The mess in the Maine Senate race argues for more discipline on the left. But millions of rank-and-file Democrats — and anyone else keeping track — can see clearly that the positions, tactics and approach of conventional Democrats have failed.

They have also alienated their own voters over many years by stifling competition and dissent within the party, from the Democratic National Committee’s attempted undermining of Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential bid to the White House staff’s efforts in 2024 to hide President Joe Biden’s obvious signs of aging from voters.

Mara Gay of the New York Times might be quite the leftist, but she’s spot on here. The Democrat establishment is scrambling desperately to stay relevant within their own party, while also trying to stuff the socialist genie back into the bottle. 

Which leads us back to the NDA requirement for the DNC finance meeting.

Well, that’s certainly true NDA’s are a common practice in the corporate world. HOWEVER, due to federal requirements all political parties are required to report their financials every quarter. And well, what the DNC doesn’t have in its coffers is raising eyebrows. Via HotAir, we find this gem from the Axios report. 

The DNC has nearly $15 million on hand but is $18 million in debt, according to its latest campaign finance filings through the end of May.
The RNC has $125 million on hand and no debt.

Ed did a bit of a numbers dive to compare the DNC to the RNC during the same period. 

The May report Axios references shows activity for the entire two-year cycle through May, and the DNC has raised slightly over $196 million in that period, including $15 million in loans. However, under Martin’s leadership, the DNC spent over $204 million in this cycle, including $150 million in operating expenses. At the start of the cycle in January 2025, the DNC had $22 million cash on hand, which has now dropped below $15 million.

Let’s compare that to the RNC. Its FEC filing for the same period shows $261 million in contributions and total disbursements of $174 million, with operating expenses roughly the same as the DNC’s ($146 million). The RNC began the cycle with a slight edge in cash on hand at $38 million, but as Axios notes, it now has over $125 million in the bank.

Those numbers are quite illuminating aren’t they? Especially when you realize that the DNC is carrying quite the load of debt while the RNC has …none. 

To those of us watching, the NDA requirement isn’t just about the money, although we all know money is a driving force for successful campaigns. Unless you are Kamala Harris that is. Burning through over $1 billion dollars in less than 5 months shows the DNC as a whole has not only a spending problem, they have major internal issues. Hence the NDA’s. 

Maybe the DSA can just start a gofundme to buy the DNC.

Well, the DSA continually relies on other people’s money, looking at the Soros family, so I doubt that gambit would work.

Narrator: no, none of them have been free due to decades of taxpayer subsidies. 

All of this to say, if Ken Martin is requiring NDA’s for high profile meetings, there’s more to the story than just money. And it tells me that they are more nervous about the midterms than previously thought, no matter what Chuck Schumer says.

With this NDA requirement, it looks like the DNC is having pretty significant internal problems. But, as we always say, thanks to Instapundit, don’t get cocky. November is 4 months away. A lot can happen between now and then.
