Adam Schiff REALLY wants to keep his seat on the House Intel committee. He’s super serious about this.

So is Democrat Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. He really wants Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell to stay on the Intelligence Committee, contrary to what Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has promised. So the media is rubbing their hands with glee waiting for the fight to start.

House Democrats are itching for a fight with the new GOP majority over who should qualify for committee assignments, tapping Reps. Adam Schiff (Calif.) and Eric Swalwell (Calif.) to sit on the Intelligence Committee in the face of Republican vows to keep them off of the powerful panel.

Eric Swalwell is bad enough with his history of schtupping Fang Fang. But for Jeffries to insist they stay on the committee because reasons? That’s never how this has worked. Furthermore, this statement from Jeffries is jaw-dropping in its obliviousness. 

“It is my understanding that you intend to break with the longstanding House tradition of deference to the minority party Intelligence Committee recommendations and deny seats to Ranking Member Schiff and Representative Swalwell,” Jeffries wrote in the letter obtained by The Washington Post. “The denial of seats to duly elected Members of the House Democratic Caucus runs counter to the serious and sober mission of the Intelligence Committee.”

It took me about ten minutes to stop laughing at this. The “serious and sober mission” of that committee since 2016 has been to scream Trump/Russia every 30 seconds with Adam Schiff in the lead. Schiff even KEPT lying about knowing the identity of the whistleblower involved with the Trump impeachment process. 

Keep in mind, Adam Schiff gleefully presided over the Trump impeachment trial and still insists there was a ‘there there’ regarding Trump Russia collusion! 

He’s made it his sole mission to get Trump somehow someway on this Russia collusion thing. And now that he’s been renominated to his post, he’s concerned about conspiracy theories and national security??

Seriously, Trump really broke Adam Schiff’s brain. Now that we know an FBI agent not only TOOK money and pocketed it for his personal gain while employed by the FBI, that very same agent was tasked with investigating the Trump/Russia collusion AKA Crossfire Hurricane.  

What does Schiff have to say about that threat to our national security? Will anyone in the media ask him those questions? Probably not. 

As for Schiff and the Biden classified documents issue that keeps growing more legs? He’s ‘concerned.’

“I don’t think we can exclude the possibility without knowing more of the facts,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl when asked if Biden may have “jeopardized” national security by taking the documents.

“We have asked for an assessment in the intelligence community of the Mar-a-Lago documents,” Schiff said. “I think we ought to get that same assessment of the documents found in the think tank, as well as the home of President Biden.”

Schiff said he would “reserve judgment” on whether Biden should have been more forthright about the discovery of the documents on the eve of the midterm elections in November. The White House did not disclose the discovery until reports of a Justice Department probe emerged last week.

Well, the “facts” have grown many more legs since that interview last week. We are up to 30 or more classified documents and however many more surrounding paperwork not only from his time as Vice President, but from his time as a U.S. Senator. 

Meanwhile, Adam Schiff is going to fight for his seat on the Intel Committee.

It is really rich given that it was Pelosi, Schiff, et al who set the rules back in the day. Schiff was totally fine with Nancy kicking Kevin McCarthy’s choices to the curb for the January 6 Committee and nominating Democrats Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney instead. But now that the shoe is on the other foot? It’s a conspiracy! 

Then again, Adam Schiff does love conspiracy theories! He’s peddled plenty over the last few years. 

“So, he will misrepresent my record. He will misrepresent Eric Swalwell or Ilhan Omar, whatever he needs to do to get the votes of the QAnon caucus within his conference.”

Since he made that statement last November, how long do you think it will take before he’s suddenly yapping about QAnon (whatever the hell that is) to any willing member of the media? 

Kevin McCarthy needs to stick to his guns on this and keep Adam Schiff off the Intel Committee.
