In a move that NO ONE saw coming, veteran broadcaster Chris Matthews announced he was retiring from MSNBC effective immediately.
Needless to say, jaws all over the country hit the floor with a solid CLUNK! And yes, it was not only that he was retiring, he was retiring RIGHT NOW. This is what happened after the commercial break.

How incredibly awkward. It wasn’t that Matthews announced his retirement and then would still be on air for another two weeks or so. Nope. He was done and walked right off the set leaving the folks at MSNBC scrambling to wipe the egg off their faces and cover their asses as best they could.
Why did Chris Matthews quit? Things have been brewing over the last few weeks and likely longer. However, most recently it has been a series of gaffes that put the kibosh on his show and career.
“Mr. Matthews, 74, has faced mounting criticism in recent days over a spate of embarrassing on-air moments, including a comparison of Senator Bernie Sanders’s campaign to the Nazi invasion of France and an interview with Senator Elizabeth Warren in which the anchor was criticized for a condescending and disbelieving tone.”
Then there was this moment on Friday.
“Last Friday night, Matthews mixed up Lindsey Graham’s primary opponent Jaime Harrison with Graham’s Republican Senate colleague Tim Scott. “Big mistake,” he said, when his guests awkwardly corrected him.”
Yeah, that was quite the facepalm bit that left a lot of people wondering what the heck was going on with Chris.
Was it that mixup? Or was it that the BernieBros and Warren folks flooding MSNBC with calls for his head resignation because he dared to be mean to their favorite socialist and Indian girl?
Was it all of that? I mean, think about it. This is a guy who has been manning the desk at Hardball since 1997. This is a guy who is politically savvy, was chief of staff to Tip O’Neill and through the years his broadcast could prop up or bury the candidate. Remember the “Tingles up my leg” episode? We do. Obama benefitted greatly from that breathless assertion of love from Chris.
However, it certainly seems that the current crop of Presidential candidates are not Chris’s cup of tea. I don’t blame him. Bernie Sanders, heck ALL the remaining crop of Democrat Presidential candidates, few though they are, are a danger to this Republic. Isn’t it interesting that Chris Matthews got a clue …finally?
So was it that that was the final straw? Or was it this?

I was afraid to name him at the time for fear of retaliation from the network; I’m not anymore. It was Chris Matthews. In 2016, right before I had to go on his show and talk about sexual-assault allegations against Donald Trump, Matthews looked over at me in the makeup chair next to him and said, “Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?”
When I laughed nervously and said nothing, he followed up to the makeup artist. “Keep putting makeup on her, I’ll fall in love with her.””
The GQ story also lines out Chris Matthews long history of objectifying women whether it was discussing Sarah Palin’s attractiveness or calling Hillary Clinton “She-Devil.”
So which is it? Did Chris Matthews decide to retire after a week’s plus worth of stumbles on-air? Did he get hit with a #MeToo issue that was too big to ignore? Or, just maybe it was that he opined that Trump could win 2020. NONE of that shall be allowed to stand according to our liberal betters!
Or, as he alluded to in his statement, he’s finally had enough and will let the younger generation have free rein in peddling their SJW socialist leftist media crap no holds barred?

Sounds like he was in trouble for inappropriate remarks to women on staff.
Guys, these days it’s really wiser to let them do all the legwork and pursuit. Let them be the ones to ask you out, because any mistakes you make in the other direction will get you fired.
