The left has a problem with women. This became glaringly apparent this week when Judge Jackson was unable to define what a woman is.

For such a supposedly “historic” nomination, one would think that Jackson had done her homework. Thus, for her to proclaim that she is unfamiliar with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s opinions in key SCOTUS cases was jaw-dropping and should’ve sent up red flags. 

For example, when Blackburn asked, “Do you agree that schools should teach children that they can choose their gender?” Jackson deflected by saying, “Senator, I’m not making comments about what schools can teach.”

Blackburn then quoted the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s majority opinion in U.S. v. Virginia. Ginsburg wrote, “Supposed inherent differences are no longer accepted as a ground for race or national origin classifications. Physical differences, between men and women, however, are enduring. The two sexes are not fungible. A community made up exclusively of one sex is different from a community composed of both.”

After finishing the quote, Blackburn asked Jackson, “Do you agree with Justice Ginsburg that there are physical differences between men and women that are enduring?”

Jackson deflected once again, saying, “Um, senator, respectfully, I am not familiar with that particular quote or case, so it’s hard for me to comment.”

Again, that should be a major red flag to everyone. Except that the Democrats and leftist progressives think this is a great answer since it protects their favorite narrative. 

The next line of questioning not only caused jaws to drop, but it also caused progressives to twist themselves into pretzels to help her out of the hole she created. 

Quite honestly, I believe she was totally unwilling to offer up a definition because she’s completely bought into the progressive narrative. I’d be willing to bet she’s been privately cheering on William “Lia” Thomas as he, UPenn, and the NCAA destroys women’s sports. 

Jackson’s defenders jumped to her defense. Here’s the title of this USA Today article:

Marsha Blackburn asked Ketanji Brown Jackson to define ‘woman.’ Science says there’s no simple answer.

Supposedly Jackson needs help from progressives because she’ll likely be presiding over trans cases in the future. Furthermore, because the Jim Crow era defined black women as colored, that’s supposedly excellent reasoning as to why it’s difficult for her to define who a woman is. Yes, they went there and then some.

“When Blackburn and the rest of her caucus support women’s full reproductive justice, when they aggressively try to solve the inequality of investment in girls’ and women’s sports – still true 50 years after Title IX made it illegal – when they take meaningful action on the persistent wage discrimination against women, especially women of color, then maybe it will make sense to engage their questions about who can count as a woman.”

There you have it. Republicans are bad for not doing enough for women. But Jackson is a hero for refusing to testify as to her definition of a woman. The hypocrisy here is astounding. 

But again, that’s where Progressives are. They’ve been incredibly busy crafting new definitions of words in order to promote their agenda. All while working to erase women. The debacle with NCAA swimming and that Thomas dude is a prime example, especially when a supposed ‘gender studies’ professor equates Thomas to Jackie Robinson!  This is another example:

A woman is anyone who identifies as a woman. Boom. Done.

Reactionaries will then follow that response by claiming “then womanhood is meaningless.” But it isn’t: womanhood is a historical category that has shifted with time. We’re simply explaining the current iteration of its meaning.

The pushback on that assertion is well worth the read. What Eli with the she/her pronouns doesn’t realize is that she said one of the quiet parts out loud. Defining a woman, according to Progressives is ALL about feelings! Which completely made me think of Shania Twain’s “Man, I Feel Like A Woman” song.

This is an excellent point concerning Jackson’s refusal to define who or what a woman is, and the Progressives shrill defense of the same.

“The fact that you can’t give me a straight answer about something so fundamental as what a woman is underscores the danger of the kind of progressive education that we are hearing about,” Blackburn responded. Her point was made.

Keep in mind, this is a woman who not only refuses to offer a definition of woman, this is someone who has a track record of leniency concerning child pornographers and pedophiles. This is a supposedly stellar jurist who had both of her most recent judgements struck down by higher courts. And now she tells us she’s unable to define what a woman is. As Steve Hayward at Powerline notes, while Progressives cheer, every Republican around the country needs to use this in campaign ads for the next election cycle!

You know what the biggest irony is? March is Women’s History Month and yet Judge Jackson refused to defend women.
