No Colin Kaepernick, Police Officers Are Not Your Enemy [VIDEO]

I wasn’t going to write about Colin Kaepernick again. But then he talked to the press and made it clear he’s not backing down from his misguided National Anthem protest.

After reading the transcript of his remarks one thing became very clear to me. Colin Kaepernick absolutely HATES law enforcement. In fact, he has bought into the Black Lives Matter mantra 100%, courtesy of his girlfriend/fiancee DJ Nessa and pal Shaun King, a major Black Lives Matter activist who definitely has an ax to grind against the police.

So let’s review his “argument” shall we?

There’s a lot of things that need to change. One specifically? Police brutality. There’s people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable. People are being given paid leave for killing people. That’s not right. That’s not right by anyone’s standards.

If Colin had asked, he’d know that paid leave for officer-involved shootings is standard protocol. As for those murdered unjustly, he’s wee bit off base. Michael Brown, Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray, and the others all had one thing in common. They were ALL criminals.

One of those murders was that of Nykea Aldridge, the cousin of NBA Star Dwyane Wade. Colin, the two who shot and killed her had major criminal records and are black. Are you going to call them out or keep blaming cops?

You talk about the encounter you and your roommates had in college and blame the police for it.

Did you ever stop and think that perhaps the person who called 911 was to blame?

Did you ever stop to think that the cops were likely acting on information given to them by a very stupid, mean, and prejudiced neighbor?

Given your remarks yesterday afternoon, I’d say the answers to those questions are No and No.

Then there’s this gem.

You have people that practice law and are lawyers and go to school for eight years, but you can become a cop in six months and don’t have to have the same amount of training as a cosmetologist. That’s insane. Someone that’s holding a curling iron has more education and more training than people that have a gun and are going out on the street to protect us.

REALLY?? You equate law enforcement training with cosmetology training? That’s just wrong on so many levels.

Colin, what kind of training do police officers receive? Have you ever asked?

How much training and retraining do they get? Do you know?

Do you know what a police department budget is for San Francisco, Denver, or a small town in Wyoming?

Did you ever stop to think that they would like MORE tools and training but budgets just can’t stretch that far?

Colin, there are approximately 650,000 sworn police officers striving to protect and serve well over 300 MILLION people in this country. They are doing so in a climate of hateful crap such as what Beyonce pulled last night at the VMA’s.

Angels on stage "shot" by "police"
Angels on stage “shot” by “police”
Beyonce's fallen "angels" covered in red to symbolize police brutality

Our police are doing their utmost to protect and serve in spite of the rhetoric spouted by you, Beyonce, and Black Lives Matter groups. In fact our police protect the fans AND football players at EVERY SINGLE football game! Yes Colin, including YOU.

Yet you ignore that reality and tell the world that every single problem people of color have must be blamed on the police.

Colin, if you want to bring about change, sitting your butt on the bench during the National Anthem won’t cut it. Instead I suggest you actually TALK to the men and women in blue.

  • Ask about the law enforcement training process and fitness requirements.
  • Ask to go through weapons and tactical training in order to find out what situations they train for and why.
  • Ask to do several ride alongs on Friday and Saturday nights in Chicago.

You might learn a few things. You might learn that the violence isn’t because of the cops, its because of the criminals and the gangs.

Colin, police officers are not your enemy. But you’ll never know for sure because it won’t fit your narrative and its too much work for you to consider another point of view.

..,Lead to by decades of liberal rule. But yeah, Colin, it’s easier to blame cops.

He has a right to protest and we have a right not to watch his protest.
I think he is being very selfish, esp when it comes to his team members. There are a lot of people who are going to stop watching the 49s b/c of him.
He is ruining not only his reputation, but his team mates are feeling the effects of his protest to.
It is ashame that this is happening to a group of guys who had nothing to do with any of this.
He really did a number on them. If I was on his team,I would be furious with him!

    FIFY 😉

If Colin had asked, he’d know that paid leave for officer-involved shootings is standard protocol.

More importantly he would have learned that it’s used because MOST ALL of police shootings are actually justified, and it’s evil to punish people who haven’t done anything wrong.

You talk about the encounter you and your roommates had in college

Heck, he didn’t even “talk about it”, he barely mentioned it. And what little information he did give, I wonder if they were never seen by their neighbors while they lived there – or were seen way too much (loud parties, lots of buddies parking in the street for parties, etc.). And, if they entered without knocking, it might have been because you left the door open.

you can become a cop in six months and don’t have to have the same amount of training as a cosmetologist

Don’t look at the cops here, look at the idiots requiring so much training for someone who stands around holding a curling iron.
As to police training, I agree that they need a LOT more of it. They need to spend a LOT more time on the range. They need to study some of the traffic laws a lot more. They also need to be given training on escalation of response to troublesome encounters – and given back the tools that have been taken away from them … by the very same sorts of folks as Colin and his buddies.
(For example, loads of police can’t use their batons anymore – or flashlights – to subdue perps, because of the imagery of beating people.)

◾Ask about the law enforcement training process and fitness requirements.

The Alameda Sheriff’s office has invited Colin to come out and participate in their training.

    From that transcript:

I’m going to speak the truth when I’m asked about it.

Well, no, Colin, you’re NOT speaking the truth. You’re parroting lies that you’ve been told. It’s the sign of a weak arm mind that you can’t figure out the truth about what you’ve been told.

    • GWB says:

Oh, and his comment about 6 months to become a cop – that’s just the classroom time. It doesn’t include the probationary time at the side of a veteran officer.
