Welcome to another Mamdani Monday in The Big Apple. The latest has the DSA turning on Zohran over the weekend and the mayor snubbing Italians on Columbus Day.
DSA darling, Avila Chevalier, who claimed “it didn’t matter” that Oscar Belgal, the gangbanger who was shot last week by ICE agents had a violent criminal record. Belgal was “just being a good dad”, she told Hasan Piker.
Police Commissioner [Jessica] Tisch came out, and I understand it’s her role to provide more information. But rather than condemn ICE, rather than condemn the shooting or the events that are taking place.
Put yourself in Oscar’s shoes,. You have your child in the back seat, you’re picking him up from school and all of a sudden you see masked men coming towards your car, banging on it, pull out guns. You’re running. I’m sorry, you’re protecting your child.
He needs to be released. F–k ICE and abolish it.”-Avila Chevalier
Oscar, the “guy who was just being a good dad”, is reportedly a member of the Trinitarios streets gang. He robbed a person at gunpoint. He sold illegal and dangerous drugs. He came into this country illegally in 2022. Oh, yeah. There were also some grand larceny and weapons possession charges on his rap sheet as well. Mamdani called him a “New Yorker” last week. A “New Yorker” who has been “terrorized” by ICE. Post Chevalier’s appearance with Hasan Piker, the DSA is now eating its very own and demanding Zohran Mamdani relieve Jessica Tisch of her duties as NYPD Commissioner and yes, run ICE out of the city.
We demand that Mayor Zohran Mamdani fire NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and use every power available to him to drive ICE out of New York City.”-DSA
I dunno. If I “put myself in Oscar’s shoes”, perhaps I would not have chosen a life of crime. Especially if I brought a child into this world five years ago. I would have thought about my life decisions. Maybe I would walk away from crime and try to stay under the radar and work a legit job. Maybe I would try a legal path to citizenship.
Or what? 🤡🤣

Use every power available to him. Guess what, losers? Mamdani does not have enough power to get ICE out of New York City. ICE is a FEDERAL agency. Think again, oh, geniuses!
Stfu 🙄
A city mayor does not have power over a damn federal government.
His only avenue is the courts, take a civics class

And I want to be very clear that our administration, alongside the commissioner, alongside the PD, will review all of the events of the last 24 hours, including ICE’s shooting, the Police Department’s response to that incident and the ensuing protest, the staging of ICE operations in privately owned parking lots, and every action the city can take to protect New Yorkers from ICE’s terror.”-Zohran Mamdani
Mamdani, the unifier. ICE has no business in NYC. Apparently, neither do Columbus statues and Italians. Oscar Belgal is a New Yorker, though. Mamdani’s Monday schedule? No bookings for a Columbus Day parade appearance.
He’s disrespectful to the Italian-American community and not coming to the Columbus Day parade confirms it.
We know he hates Columbus. But the parade celebrates the rich culture and heritage of Italian-Americans.”-Angelo Vivolo, chairman of the Columbus Heritage Coalition
A rich culture of community. Family. Tradition. Disrespecting Italian-Americans whose ancestors came off a boat with no shoes and the clothes on their back and helped build the city in which he lives but going to bat for a criminal who has not performed a legitimate day of work in his time in America. This is where we are at in New York City. This is Zohran Mamdani’s logic. Erase ICE. Erase Little Italy off the map of enclaves…
On Monday, another week, what is the mayor of New York to do? Seems he cannot make the perpetually offended, commie socialists happy unless he fires Jessica Tisch (not going to happen, cupcakes) and completely eradicates ICE from “his city”. And, the Italians? They don’t want him at the parade he denied he was going to attend, anyway. The Irish probably would also be fine if he were to sit out St. Patrick’s Day, too.
Mamdani’s office will say his absence is merely because of “scheduling”. Busy guy or something.
Mamdani declined Brooklyn’s invitation, left Queens organizers without an answer, and is unlikely to attend Monday’s Fifth Avenue parade. After his 2020 gesture toward a Columbus statue and Little Italy’s omission from the city map, calling this mere scheduling seems a stretch.

New Yorkers have long been outspoken and have never pretended to be people they are not. They will tell you exactly the way they feel. Especially Italian New Yorkers. At least Zohran Mamdani is being a true New Yorker here-and true to who he really is. A socialist sympathizer who thrives on veiled insults and chaos.
Zohran Mandani is just avoiding the boos (and probably a dozen or so middle fingers) he would get should he appear at any Italian event in New York City. Please, my fellow paisans, offer the socialist Muslim a sausage and peppers sandwich with a side of pork braciole. He’s off to rally for the marginalized gang members today. You know, the true New Yorkers.

Im not saying the New York mob should get involved, but ya know, sometimes things happen, and someone makes you an offer you cant refuse..
The Mob no longer exists. Murder Inc. no longer exists. When they did exist there was little overt anti-Christian and ant-Semitic events. Impunity is a terrible thing.
Mamdani is a man with no substance. He has no heritage here in America and is completely oblivious to Americans respect for each others heritage in building our nation. We are all just Indigenous people he rules over.We owe no allegiance to him or the DSA and quite frankly I agree with Scott, and so do thousands of indigenous Americans.
Leaders who talk nonstop about inclusion shouldn’t make a habit of treating certain traditions as optional when the political optics get uncomfortable.
Skipping celebrations tied to one of New York’s most established ethnic communities might energize activists, but it sends a different message to the families who built those neighborhoods.
Hijacking a traditional ethnic celebration to venerate a Cold War Marxist operative exposes the administration’s true priorities. City Hall cares nothing for community achievement; radical officials simply utilize public platforms to normalize collectivist subversion.
First, City Hall hijacks ethnic history month to celebrate a Cold War Marxist, and now the executive boycots a historic cultural procession altogether. Progressive governance has completely abandoned traditional civic unity in favor of alienating foundational communities.
