Zohran Mamdani tried to play to both sides regarding October 7th. He failed miserably on all accounts.
It has been three years since the horrific massacre and mass hostage taking of October 7, 2023. Like so many others, I can remember exactly what I was doing when I first learned about it. Ironically, thanks to the time difference, it was late on October 6th, on the West Coast, when the first shocking videos began to roll across my X feed. And I fully recall the sinking feeling when I saw what was happening. This was no mere attack; this was an invasion. The scale would not be apparent until much later, but as the tweets and the videos began to detail the unfolding horror, it was apparent that this was nothing like we had seen previously.
The names and images of those murdered still remain with those of good conscience.
On this 3rd anniversary of the 10/7 massacre, my commitment to our ally remains unchanged.
Israel has my full support for what’s necessary to prevail and erase the last 2,000 Hamas cowards.
The world cannot ever forget the horror of that day. pic.twitter.com/xeVAHQKCJd

The agony of the dead and the living still echo through the videos that Hamas filmed themselves. And then there is the Lord Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, who posted on X and tried to kiss up to his Jewish voters by acknowledging the atrocities of October 7th, while simultaneously showing his ass by complaining about Israel, and excusing what Hamas did by using words like “ongoing genocide” and “occupation” and “apartheid” in his long-winded apologia for terror.

This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.
The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.
Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.
To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.
Jewish Democrats like Jared Moskowitz and Dan Goldman and others rightfully snapped at Mamdani, while others pointed out that his wife was cool with the Hamas atrocities on October 7th. And for those who have forgotten what Zohran Mamdani said BEFORE he became mayor…
This was Zohran Mamdani only 13 days after October 7. No one could have predicted that this unhinged radical would become New York's next mayor. Israel had not yet launched its ground invasion into Gaza and he was already screaming genocide

Mamdani has a record, and it has been on display for all to see. We all know what he actually thinks about Israel, and October 7th. But because he is the mayor, and he’s playing a political game, he has to act like he cares. Which led to the insane decision by his office to split his time between two events yesterday evening.
According to the schedule for October 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., Mamdani will participate in the “Vigil in Remembrance of October 7th,” a memorial event commemorating October 7. At 9:00 p.m., about two hours later, the mayor is expected to meet with “Palestinian New Yorkers.”
So, how did that go?
Mayor Zohran Mamdani faced criticism from multiple sides during a vigil in Union Square marking the attack that killed more than 1,200 Israeli civilians.
The event, described as a show of solidarity and resilience honoring those killed and remembering their pain, was marked by tension and confrontation. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators interrupted portions of the gathering, chanting: “It’s not complicated! It’s not complicated! Gaza will be liberated! Gaza will be liberated!”
Mamdani was met with chants of “traitor” and “sellout” and faced jeers from some attendees. The mayor, Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and former City Comptroller Brad Lander were criticized by some within their political base during efforts to promote unity.
When Zohran Mamdani is not adequately anti-Semitic for the Hamas LARPers, you know the world has gone mad.
Hizzoner, with a candle in hand, was heckled by the angry mob, including some waving Hamas flags, who marched from City Hall to crash the event meant to honor Jewish victims killed by Hamas terrorists — and Palestinians in the subsequent war.
“You coward!” some of the keffiyeh-clad agitators shouted at Hizzoner. “How do you let this happen?”
“Zohran you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide,” the protesters yelled in unison.
Other chants included “Mayor Mamdani take a stand. Stop the sale of stolen land” and “Shame on you.”
The chaos at the vigil, organized by Israelis for Peace, came after an earlier protest outside City Hall, in which the crowd of about 125 demonstrators criticized Mamdani’s “betrayal” of Palestinian causes since taking office.
“Mayor Mamdani take a side, justice for Palestine,” the crowd chanted, with one protester holding up a picture of the mayor rolling out the red carpet for Netanyahu in response to the prime minister’s visit to New York last month.
After remaining stone-faced at the candlelight vigil, Mamdani headed uptown to Hinds Hall by Ayat, a Michelin Guide-featured Palestinian restaurant, to meet with Palestinian families, according to sources.
The irony is incredible. Simply incredible. Because Zohran Mamdani dared to attend a vigil for those killed on October 7th, in order to cover his political ass, his supporters have turned on him for being insufficiently dedicated to the cause. And Mamdani’s big mouth has come back to bite him, because those same protesters remember that he campaigned on arresting Benjamin Netanhayu, only to put on a show when he was told that he couldn’t do that. The mob that he fed does not care. They only want what they want, and if he can’t give it to them… well, Robespierre didn’t survive the French Revolution. Mamdani will likely just have to sleep on the couch in Gracie Mansion for a while.
Will the mob forgive and forget that Mamdani attended this very left-wing “Israelis for Peace” vigil? They might, they might not. But notice that Mamdani publicly attended the vigil, but then privately met with Palestinian families away from cameras. One has to wonder what he said when the public couldn’t hear him, but these families could. I wouldn’t lay odds that he told them to be nice to the Jews of New York City. While it is amusing to see his base heckle him because he stepped out of their imaginary lines, we all know what Mamdani actually thinks. He said it repeatedly before he was elected. He’s played buddy-buddy with anti-Semitic losers like Mahmoud Khalil and Hasan Piker. One vigil does not a conscience make. Zohran’s supporters can rest easy – we all know that he was faking his empathy. That they can’t even stomach the fakery for political gain is the amusing part.
