Leana Wen: Terminated After Eight Months

Leana Wen, the president of Planned Parenthood was forced out of her job yesterday in a dispute over her management style and the direction of the organization.

And you heard it there. The position was not a “medical” one but a “political” one. So, with whom did Dr. Wen differ with philosophically? Wen was ousted after a secret meeting of the Board of Directors.

And, the masses sounded off:

In a statement, Wen added the following:

I came to Planned Parenthood to run a national healthcare organization and to advocate for the broad range of public health policies that affect our patients’ health. The new Board leadership has determined that the priority of Planned Parenthood moving forward is to double down on abortion rights advocacy.”-Leana Wen

But it wasn’t just Wen’s medical over political focus that had the Board of Directors questioning her leadership. A source close to the situation says Wen was “distrustful of staff, made inaccurate statements to the press, and shied away from using the word ‘abortion’ or employing gender-inclusive language.” Perhaps because a medical professional understands that there are obviously biological differences between men and women? As in women can have menstrual cycles. Men who “identify” as women cannot. Women can become pregnant. Men who “identify” as women cannot. Women have a uterus. Men do not. Ergo, only women get abortions. Was Wen willing to waste credibility she built as a medical professional by buying in to this ridiculousness? The notion that she could not use the proper gender pronoun “she” without being looked at cross-eyed? I would say not.

Jumping in to fill Wen’s shoes is “community organizer”, Alexis McGill Johnson. Johnson previously served on the board for both the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She is the co-founder of the Perception Institute, which describes itself as a “national consortium of researchers, advocates, and cultural strategists that turns cutting-edge mind science research on identity difference into solutions.”

Community organizer > individual with medical degree to be at the helm of a so-called “women’s healthcare” organization. Noted.

Johnson also worked with Starbucks on its racial bias curriculum that launched last year, according to her bio. Thousands of Starbucks stores around the country closed down in May 2018 for training. Johnson is known for her social justice and political advocacy. Just what Planned Parenthood wants, right?

Upon Wen’s arrival to Planned Parenthood, employees received a 182-page handbook on rules and tips for working with Wen upon her arrival, including “Make sure to frequently look up [from Twitter] and make eye contact with Dr. Wen to see if she is trying to communicate urgent information” and “Dr. Wen “learns not hears.”

I will always stand with Planned Parenthood, as I continue my life’s work and mission of caring for and fighting for women, families, and communities.”-Leana Wen

Too bad they didn’t stand with you, Dr. Wen. You were unwanted. You were disposable. You were not woke enough. They cut you right out, didn’t they?

I hope Johnson and Wen do have a chat about the sinister cesspool that is Planned Parenthood. More details to come, we are sure of it. The left certainly does eat their own.
