Last night the Democrats flailed badly during their debate. Did we learn anything more from the wannabe dictators? Why yes, we did. We found out their ideas are a train wreck of epic proportions, and record players do stuff!
We’ve always known the current field of candidates is WAY OUT THERE on their progressive socialistic ideas. Deanna proffered her predictions here,But boy howdy, the rutabaga derp was strong last night!
Grandpa Bernie vs Grandpa Biden: Bernie is a major fan of how all the other countries run their business. He’s not a fan of how we run our country. Biden got a nice jab in here.
“Sanders launched into another diatribe about how America spends more on health care than “any other major country on Earth.” Bernie constantly uses the “any other major country on Earth” line to refer to how the U.S. stacks up to other countries in the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development.
Attacking Bernie’s focus on other countries, Biden chimed in, “This is America.” Sanders responded, “Yeah, but Americans don’t want to pay twice as much as other countries.””
On this point I completely agree with Biden. We DON’T want to pay as much as other countries. Hell, we don’t want to pay what we are paying now. Healthcare and healthcare insurance have gotten more costly since Obamacare. Biden needs to answer for that. And, at the same time, Bernie needs to be taken to the woodshed for his thinking that socialist healthcare – Medicare For All crap will fix everything.
Kamala and Amy: According to the New York Times, neither of those two were “woke” enough on their records as prosecutors.
Lizzie: When Ed Rendell calls you out.
“Well, I helped organize that affair, and I thought her attack was extremely hypocritical because nearly 20 of us who attended the Biden fundraiser had also given her $2,000 or more in 2018 at closed-door fundraisers in “swanky” locations.
Warren didn’t seem to have any trouble taking our money in 2018, but suddenly we were power brokers and influence peddlers in 2019. The year before, we were wonderful. I co-chaired one of the events for the senator and received a glowing, handwritten thank-you letter from her for my hard work.”

That’s a big flat out NOPE from a metric ton of American patriots. Biden himself also got gun ban statistics wrong. Amazingly enough, the WaPo called him out on it.

Wait what? What about the rest of us? Why only ten families? What’s so special about them? Why do they make the cut and our family didn’t? Yeah, he opened a whole can of worms there and possibly campaign finance violations to boot! OOPSIE.
Julian Castro: Let’s hit upon Biden’s age and ummm..mental capacity. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
At least they all agreed upon one thing.
“New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker called Trump a racist. Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke called him a white supremacist. And Kamala Harris, a California senator, said Trump’s hateful social media messages provided “the ammunition” for recent mass shootings.
“President Trump, you have spent the last two-and-a-half years full time trying to sow hate and vision among us, and that’s why we’ve gotten nothing done,” Harris declared.”
Given the fact that there are now 150 judges confirmed, I’d say he’s gotten quite a bit done. Particularly given the fact that many of those judicial appointments have been vacant since the Obama Administration.
A low point of the night? The protestors who decided to boo Biden for talking about losing his daughter and wife in a horrible car accident.
To be fair to Biden, he was about to talk about the loss of his family in a car accident when those protesters broke out to interrupt him.

There was one thing missing according to Kamala and Beto. No one asked about abortion! We know the answer to that. They are ALL FOR ABORTION 24/7!

Lots and lots of words were thrown around last night. Did we learn anything new from this slate of Presidential wanna-be’s? Nope. Instead they added more cement to their mantra of ‘government knows all, is all, and needs to be all.’

Oh yes you do! Because that statistic is horribly misleading. It does not say that we pay twice as much for the exact same level of medical care. Americans pay for a lot of things that people in those other countries can’t get as care at all. Why do you think there’s a medical tourism industry in America? We also do a lot of “desperate care” where we try that one last time with chemo, or try to save that preemie.
Yes, some of it is higher prices. A LOT of it is jacked-up premiums (partly due to 0bamaCare, partly due to the rigged incentive that makes health ‘insurance’ an employment thing, ALL due to gov’t interference in the ‘insurance’ market). A lot of it is pure market distortions. Some of it is stupidity in patent laws.
But, some is due to the fact we pay for a lot more medical care than others.
And, let’s face it, Bernie’s proposals will certainly reduce the costs, initially*. Especially as care is rationed. Eventually, even that rationed care will cost more, though – for what you’re getting, which won’t be much.
(* We’re actually paying more than once for a lot of things, since we pay premiums AND taxes, and a lot of prices get jacked up to cover the losses in the welfare side. Well, once there’s only one payer, you will see an initial “efficiency boost”. Of course, it won’t take long for friction in the new system to produce lots of waste heat and it will lose any initial gains in “efficiency” rather quickly.)

SWEET! Please encourage progs to buy and wear these. It will make it so much easier to identify our would-be tyrants when the time comes.
Amazingly enough, the WaPo called him out on it.
They called out Warren, too! She conflated two different votes in the Senate (“assault weapon” ban and expanding background checks) into one. The one on the ban didn’t even receive votes from all the Democrats in the Senate (40 of 55), and the filibuster wouldn’t have made a difference.

Honestly, he’s just being honest about what so many politicians do: buy your votes.
Nobody will charge him with bribery, though. That’s just not done.

A lot of them were from before the 0bama administration. At least numbers-wise. The Dems prevented Bush from seating a bunch, and 0bama seemed to not be bothered by their absence.
