Late yesterday, President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. will be purchasing 50 million barrels of oil from Venezuela and liberals are losing their ever-loving minds.
I am pleased to announce that the Interim Authorities in Venezuela will be turning over between 30 and 50 MILLION Barrels of High Quality, Sanctioned Oil, to the United States of America.
This oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” -Donald Trump
This is a win-win for us AND for Venezuelans, who, under Hugo Chávez years ago, nationalized their assets and caused companies such as ConocoPhillips and Exxon Mobil to pull out.
We can just hear the leftist harpies now-“Trump is taking all of the oiiiiiilllllll. It’s always been all about the oiiiiilllll.” And when they’re done squealing about oil, they will then subsequently whine about something completely unrelated, like releasing more freaking Epstein files. They will continue to scream into the void and throw whatever sticks to that wall.
Some on Trump’s side are also turning their noses up on this deal. The “30-50 million barrels” is equivalent to about 2.5 days for Americans, they’ll say. But, there may be more from where this came from and the start of something bigger. I’m no expert on this but from what I have been seeing, Venezuela produces relatively low-quality crude. This crude could give refineries in the Gulf more work and help replenish the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Yeah, the same one that Biden said he “replenished” but really didn’t. From August of 2024:
The Biden administration says it has replenished the 180 million barrels of oil it withdrew from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve in response to high prices following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”

But, the anti-Trump crowd cannot handle a win, or exposing the Democrats for who they are, and it shows:

The short answer? They would. And, if the liberals are not balking at how selling barrels of Venezuelan oil is the “start of a doom-and-gloom-dictatorship-white-man-colonialism”, they will spin the tale of Trump not backing Venezuelan Opposition Leader, Maria Corina Machado because he is jealous of the whole Nobel Peace Prize thing. Just ask WaPo and Chuck Todd:

There are the things they will ignore, though. They will turn their backs on the UN Circus that rolled in after Nicholas Maduro was captured-to include Columbia, Somalia, (yes, Colubmia thanked them), as well as China and Russia. But Orange Man Bad. Oil bad. Fraud? Not so much.

They sang, “God Bless America” yesterday. No goofy chants or rhymes. No folk songs with tambourines and harmonicas. No drumming circles. No sign-waving guys in chicken suits. Flameless candles and God Bless America. They actually said God. Acknowledged Him, even.
We say, God Bless OIL, too. The left will ignore the potential win this could be with every fiber of their pathetic being. They will spin the tales of “this is how a dictatorship starts”. Meanwhile, Venezuelans are dancing in the streets:
Probably some of the best hysterics we saw yesterday came out of Chauncey Vega at Salon, who called Trump an “exhausted strongman“. This is the President who is taking on Narco terrorists and trying to revitalize Venezuela out of oppression and revamp their oil industry to mutually benefit their country and The United States. Such an “exhausted” guy, don’t you all think?
We don’t think Trump jealous, petty (in this case), or at all exhausted. We think he is just getting started in 2026. To this we say, Drill, Baby, DRILL!

Wfjag says: It also means that the oil won’t be going to China or Russia.
China must import oil to keep its factories open – like the ones producing “renewable energy” products (I guess that solar cells and windmills don’t work in China, because China has to import oil and coal to produce power).
The other main source of China’s oil imports is Iran – but the folks who live there are tired of the Mullahs and so that source may dry up soon.
Russia buys oil from Venezuela at well below market prices and then sells it to countries which don’t support the sanctions against Russia (like India), and the profits help keep paying for the war against Ukraine. If the Venezuelan source of oil is cut off, Russia won’t have nearly as much money to pay to bomb Ukrainian civilians.
See the terrible effects of Orange Man Bad buying that oil and controlling the money so it’s used to help the Venezuelan people who have been impoverished by Maduro, et al.
