There are a great many things to unpack from last night’s attempted assassination of Trump Administration officials at the WHCA Dinner. While many are focusing on the shooter, one thing is abundantly clear. The Democrats need to get out of the way and agree to fund DHS. ASAP.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries went on record last night with their concern disguised as political speak.

Thankful for the swift law enforcement action to protect everyone from gunfire at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Praying for the safety of those who may remain in harm’s way.

The violence and chaos in America must end.

The hypocrisy here given their rhetoric and their votes AGAINST funding the Secret Service, TSA, and more is stunning. And completely on brand. Last night Secret Service and TSA were tasked with getting the over 2,000 attendees into the ballroom and also monitoring the asshat protestors outside the venue. Yes, there are and will be questions for the future regarding the security protocols there. This from Bethany Miller is very concerning. 

I was at the Washington Hilton for WHCD receptions (Fox, Daily Mail, POLITICO, etc) and I was astonished at how easy it was to get in. Simply flash your digital invitation to door checkers—see photo below. No one inspected it. You know how easy it would be to forward this invite? I never went through security. There were mags right outside the ballroom where the dinner was but that was it. There should’ve been full screenings in the lobby of the Hilton. I stood shoulder to shoulder at a Fox reception with Karoline Leavitt, Speaker Johnson, Stephen Miller, and more very important officials with a purse on my shoulder that was never checked. I’m not surprised at all that a gunman got that far. This can’t keep happening. Fund all law enforcement and build the ballroom. Keep our POTUS safe and our press free.

But again, every member of TSA and the Secret Service who were there …have NOT BEEN PAID for MONTHS now due to the Democrats playing games over ICE funding. 

Last night that ballroom was chock full of Democrats. Both elected officials and members of the media.

The gunman has admitted he was targeting Trump Administration officials. 

The gunman who charged a security checkpoint and opened fire outside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner gunman was targeting Trump officials Saturday night.

Cole Tomas Allen, 31, told police he was going after “administration officials” at the press gala inside the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington, DC, sources told The Post.

Allen wasn’t targeting anyone in particular, and officials aren’t yet sure if he was trying to kill President Trump specifically, sources said.

“He was trying to just breach his way in and take whoever he could,” one law enforcement source told The Post.

Secret Service Deputy Director Matthew Quinn said the shooter was trying to carry out a “national tragedy” while all eyes were on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Read that last again. He was going after Trump Administration officials. Who were scattered throughout the ballroom and intermingled with Democrats. To be blunt, if he had been able to breach the doors and start indiscriminately firing…. Democrats would’ve been RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. 

Yes, I’m yelling. Maybe it takes that along with some severe Gibbs slaps upside the head for Democrats to realize the games are over. 

It’s been asked before when the funding came to a screeching halt, do Democrats want people to die? By golly, it sure has seemed that way.

But now, given many of them were front and center to an attempted attack, will they wake up to reality? The reality that their own rhetoric and their refusal to fund agencies that provide security for this Administration and this Republic are a cause of attempted attacks like this. 

The suspected White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner shooter, Cole Tomas Allen, signal boosted posts on the left-wing social media platform Bluesky arguing that President Donald Trump should be “immediately removed from office and tried for high crimes” and criticizing a “Freedom of the Press” pocket square that many journalists donned at last night’s dinner as “a white flag that no one can read unless you pull it out and wave it in defeat,” a Washington Free Beacon review found, suggesting he thought a stronger message of opposition to the president was called for.

“the president of the united states is personally looting the treasury to the tune of literally billions of dollars and that he is not being immediately removed from office and tried for high crimes against this country is a devastating indictment of every part of our political system,” read one of the posts, which Allen shared about a week before the dinner.

As we all know, Bluesky is the toxic social media site where Democrats live. One can presume that the shooter was also not a fan of Democrats not stopping Trump. So hey, if some Democrats were injured or worse during his attack? No biggie. 

From his manifesto, which his brother immediately gave to the police, Allen planned to use buckshot instead of shotgun slugs. Guess what Democrats? That would’ve meant injuries to members of your party as well give buckshot has a wide pattern. 

So again, in the wake of this attempted attack will the Democrats wake up? Will they stop playing games and agree to fund DHS?

They should. It’s for their safety as well as that of the Trump Administration.
