It sure as heck didn’t take long. Thirty seconds after it happened, people began discussing whether the shooting at the WHCA Dinner was staged. The ballroom wasn’t evacuated; the wine and champagne hadn’t been taken yet. How sick are these people popping up with these theories?

The shooting couldn’t possibly have been real and done by a man with malign intent. That is, according to the numpty segment of our population.

The shooter is alive. If it was staged he will spill. End of story.

A fresh wave of conspiracy theories is rolling through social media across the country following Saturday night’s attempted assassination of President Trump at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner.

The unfounded theories largely capitalize on short video snippets of those in the room and initial breaking news reports filed moments after a gunman tried to breach a ballroom at the Washington Hilton with Trump and hundreds of other government officials and members of the press inside.

By the time Trump had traveled back to the White House to deliver remarks on the incident and posted a photo of the suspected attacker, thousands of social media posts had been circulating online suggesting the episode was “staged” or somehow faked.

Reasons users cited for such a hoax were wide ranging, from a desire to distract from the Iran war to a need to justify Trump’s desired ballroom at the White House for hosting large events like the annual WHCA dinner.

Let me take the last paragraph first: Trump neither wants or needs to distract from the Iran War. We normie Americans have been waiting almost 50 years to get rid of the existential threat of the religious clerics. Trump neither wants or needs to justify the ballroom to the whining twits that don’t want the ballroom. The fact that the White House doesn’t have a ballroom is embarrassing. The local Travelodge has a ballroom.

That doesn’t mean that conspiracy theories don’t abound. Deutsche Welle posted a short and clear video on YouTube debunking the “staged” theory:

The “staged” claims rely general facts to prove their claims and don’t acknowledge true facts that refute their bogus claims.

The “Looney Left” went nuts and made some claims as reported by the New York Post:

The fringe’s conspiracy theories for why the assassination attempt was staged range from it aiming to be a distraction from the Iran war or the Epstein files, to clearing the way to build Trump’s proposed $400 million White House ballroom.

“Stop. Staging. Fake. Assassination. Attempts,” an X user wrote, mimicking a pro-Trump post by conservative activist and podcast host Riley Gaines.

Someone else sneered, “Yep that is why Trump staged the event last night. To get his supporters yelling to build his f–king ballroom.”

One hateful X user wrote in response to a photo in which White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie, were comparing baby bumps, “You’re both a couple of fat ugly pigs.

“The staged assassination attempt was pitiful. Your time is coming, piggy.”

The comments continued a disturbing pattern of callous indifference that has followed every assassination plot against the president.

The term “staged” has been trending on both Google Trends and social media, with more than 300,000 posts on X by midday Sunday using the term, the New York Times reported. Search interest for the word on Google quickly spiked in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.

Crockett, who lost in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate this year, has made multiple posts about the shooting since it happened, with some condemning political violence and others questioning whether assassination attempts against Trump were staged.

On her official X and Threads accounts, she said, “The political violence is unacceptable and must stop.”

“I am grateful that everyone attending tonight’s WHCD is safe,” the congresswoman added.

But on her Jasmine For US campaign Threads account, she posted, “Has there ever been a president have this many close ‘attempts’ on their life?”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Crockett’s office for comment. A message was also left with the office of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., seeking comment.

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for anyone to return the call.

The best part of the “staged” call? The man who kept eating his salad was to The Left proof that it was all a set up.

A guest at the White House correspondents’ dinner retained his table manners and was spotted calmly tucking into his salad course on Saturday, soon after gunfire rang out and heavily armed Secret Service agents swarmed into the ballroom of the Washington Hilton hotel.

A video clip captured Michael Glantz, a senior talent agent with the Creative Artists Agency, leisurely forking leaves from his burrata salad into his mouth against a backdrop of a stage just yards away, by then empty of everyone save a rifle-wielding officer in tactical combat gear.

“I’m a New Yorker,” Glantz told the New York Times in a brief interview after Donald Trump was bundled to safety amid a scene of chaos and confusion, and the function ultimately cancelled.

No staging. No panic. Way to go.
