Supposedly Climate Change Is The Real Reason For #IranProtests [VIDEO]

Iranians are fighting for their freedom against a cash flush (thanks Obama!) terrorist regime. More than 20 people, that we know of, have been killed. But that didn’t stop Scientific American from offering their opinion. You see, they know the REAL reason the Iran Protests are taking place. Climate Change.

The impacts of climate change are among the environmental challenges facing Iran that helped spark protests in dozens of cities across the Islamic republic.

At least 20 people have died in the uprising, driven by the sudden collapse of financial institutions, low wages and mistrust of national leaders. Rising temperatures are seen by some experts as an underlying condition for the economic hardships that led to the unrest.

A severe drought, mismanaged water resources and dust storms diminished Iran’s economy in recent years, according to experts who study the region. While the protests are largely driven by resistance to the country’s hardline conservative government, such environmental factors might have contributed to the largest protests inside Iran in years.

Yes folks, you read that correctly.

Among the sparks of activism are corruption, nepotism, rippling effects of low oil prices and sour reactions to the Trump administration’s denunciations of Iran, said Barbara Slavin, director of the Future of Iran Initiative at the Atlantic Council.

She said the role of climate change on the protests is “massive” and underreported by the media. The protests have largely sprung from provincial cities that climate refugees now call home, instead of the capital, Tehran. Those areas have traditionally been more conservative and less willing to speak out against the ayatollahs, she said.

Are you kidding me? The media isn’t reporting ANYTHING about the Iran protests. Needless to say, this article is a Hot Take on the scale of eleventy billion.

Yes, Iran has been dealing with drought for quite a few years. Not only that, but a massive earthquake hit one section of Iran in November and again just the other day. Problem is, the government of Iran did nearly ZERO to help their own people recover from the quake, and turned down all offers of help from other nations. Drought and earthquakes mean that pesky climate warming/cooling/ALGORE hockey stick crap is the culprit right? Yeah… No.

The Iranian people KNOW that billions of dollars was freighted to Iran on Obama’s say so. Thus, for several years, the Iranian government has had financial resources available to help those impacted by the drought and the earthquakes. But they didn’t. Instead the Iranian government took their cash and have been using it to prop up Hamas, Hezbollah, terrorism in Syria, and build up their military.

But but climate!! I mean, even the Ayatollah advocated for climate change!

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called on the country to address climate change. In a 2015 letter, he wrote that Iran must “manage climate change and environment threats such as desertification, especially dust pollution [and] drought.”

Pretty damned condescending of him considering that he is enjoying all those pallets of cash Obama and John Kerry so happily handed over.

Note to Scientific American, this isn’t a penny ante “rebellion” with the chief culprit being climate change.

Nope. Iranians are fighting for freedom against a terrorist regime that has left them beaten down, imprisoned, and tortured. The security forces aren’t attacking protestors because of climate change.

They are attacking protestors because the government ordered them to.

Iranians, including students and children, have been thrown into prison because of their protests.

No, they aren’t getting tear gassed because of climate change. Nor are they dying because of climate change.

Iranian women aren’t throwing off their hijabs because of the issues of climate change.

They are taking them off in protest of an evil terrorist regime and advocating for freedom from oppression.

Barbara Slavin thinks that Iran needs MOAR money to help combat climate change with the result that no more protests will happen.

Memo to Barbara and the rest of the dim bulbs at Scientific American, what the Iranian people NEED is a complete regime change. So please, take your climate change hockey stick and… shove it.

The only thing climate change cannot do is make it warm

  • WHo says they wouldn’t enjoy your suggestion with the hockey stick?

And yes, in the immortal words of George Orwell: “One has to be a member of the intelligentsia to believe such things: no ordinary man could be such a fool.”

A severe drought, mismanaged water resources and dust storms
So, they admit the problem is mismanagement. IOW, it’s the gov’t’s fault. Oy vey.
