Rental Hypocrisy From Tlaib And Pressley

Rental hypocrisy has come to light concerning Reps Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley. Both are staunch advocates for cancelling rent and keeping eviction moratoriums in place…indefinitely. Yet BOTH of them made money off of rental properties.

Rashida Tlaib:

The Michigan Democrat’s 2020 financial disclosure, filed on Friday, disclosed between $15,001 and $50,000 in rental income from a Detroit property. The value of the property is estimated to be between $100,001 and $250,000, according to the disclosure.

Ayanna Pressley:

Pressley’s 2020 financial disclosure, filed on Friday, disclosed between $5,000 and $15,000 in rental income from a Boston property in her husband’s name. The property was converted into a multi-family apartment after it was purchased, according to Pressley’s disclosure.

Yet this is what they had to say about the eviction moratoriums.

And:

Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., along with Reps. Cori Bush, D-Mo., Jimmy Gomez, D-Calif., Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., and Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., signed on to the letter, seen first by ABC News, urging the administration, which has said its hands are tied by a June Supreme Court ruling, to act.

“In the midst of the ongoing pandemic and the growing surges of the Delta variant across the nation, the impending eviction crisis is a matter of public health and safety and demands an urgent government response. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention must leverage every authority available to extend the eviction moratorium before it is too late,” the letter said.

So, let’s take a look at this glaring hypocrisy regarding rental properties. Both Tlaib and Pressley, along with all the rest of the socialist Squad members in Congress have continually pushed for eviction moratoriums, even as Congress was unable to pass legislation this summer. One that hurts individual property owners, as we’ve pointed out several times.

Yet, now we find out that at least two members of Congress who’ve been loudly advocating for these moratoriums have gotten income from their own rental properties.

Yet rental property owners all over the country are or will be going bankrupt due to the eviction moratoriums championed by Biden, the CDC and upheld by activist judges.

But our public health matters!!

Rashida Tlaib feels the same way.

But again, BOTH of them own rental properties. BOTH of them made money in 2020 and are likely making money now. Here’s a question: If their tenants needed rental assistance or couldn’t afford to pay rent, do you think Tlaib or Pressley would’ve helped them? I sincerely doubt it.

The latest eviction orders from the CDC are harmful to property owners AND tenants. Why? Because its based upon sloppy reasoning and little to zero scientific facts.

Yet here we are with two of the most rabid socialists in Congress touting these eviction moratoriums while making bank on their own rental properties.

The rental hypocrisy by Tlaib and Pressley is deep and wide here.
