There have been few better choices that Donald Trump made than making Nikki Haley ambassador to the United Nations. Since she took the job, she’s shown exactly who she can be: a steel-eyed leader who will not take crap from anybody.
She came to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and she’s all out of bubblegum.

With that in mind, here are some of Ambassador Nikki Haley’s top hits from this year at the UN.
1) The moment in April when she demanded than any discussion of Syria’s atrocities be discussed in open session.

And she wasn’t finished.

I think that was the first time that most people – including many “experienced” politicos who wondered at Haley’s selection as UN ambassador – sat back and said (in their best Keanu Reeves impression), “whoaaaaa.”
2) Haley’s warning to the world about North Korea in late November.
“The dictator of North Korea made a choice yesterday that brings the world closer to war, not farther from it." -Ambassador Nikki Haley at an emergency UN Security Council meeting on #NorthKorea's ICBM test

Her entire statement is fantastic, but it’s the way that she puts the ball – very obviously – in China’s court that makes this absolutely awesome.
President Trump called Chinese President Xi this morning and told him that we have come to the point that China must cut off the oil from North Korea. That would be a pivotal step in the world’s effort to stop this international pariah. As I mentioned, many countries have made some big economic and political sacrifices by cutting ties with North Korea. They did that to serve the peace and security of all of us. We now turn to President Xi to also take that stand.
We believe he has an opportunity to do the right thing for the benefit of all countries. China must show leadership and follow through. China can do this on its own, or we can take the oil situation into our own hands.
The dictator of North Korea made a choice yesterday that brings the world closer to war, not farther from it. We have never sought war with North Korea, and still today we do not seek it. If war does come, it will be because of continued acts of aggression like we witnessed yesterday. And if war comes, make no mistake, the North Korean regime will be utterly destroyed.
The nations of the world have it within their power to further isolate, diminish, and, God willing, reverse the dangerous course of the North Korean regime. We must all do our part to make that happen.
3) “Taking names” and standing with Israel.
Yesterday, the UN, in a stunning show of idiocy, appeasement, and anti-Semitism, voted their disapproval of the United States moving its embassy to Jerusalem. Well, the ambassador wasn’t having any of that.
At the UN we're always asked to do more & give more. So, when we make a decision, at the will of the American ppl, abt where to locate OUR embassy, we don't expect those we've helped to target us. On Thurs there'll be a vote criticizing our choice. The US will be taking names. pic.twitter.com/ZsusB8Hqt4

And she absolutely put the UN on notice about their hatred of Israel, proving that she – and this administration – intends to stand with their ally, and if the UN loses money by it… well, sucks to be you, UN.
Yes, I believe that is a cheering squad you hear.

And then Ambassador Haley planned a party. For the friends of the United States. By invitation only.
The 8 countries who voted no with the #US on the #UNGA #Jerusalem resolution, the 35 who abstained and the 21 who did not cast a vote have been invited to a reception by @nikkihaley as a “thank you for your friendship to the United States” pic.twitter.com/x0qRs4AZlZ

And THAT sound was a hundred mics dropping at once.
If you were wondering about the post-Trump future of the GOP (and yes, there should be a lot of wondering, especially with the coming midterm elections), look no further than Nikki Haley. Republican leadership should hail her as an Iron Lady of the 21st Century, who has credentials both as a governor and is now proving that she can hold her own and deliver some brutal right hooks on the international stage. Margaret Thatcher, God rest her soul, would be applauding.
For too long the political arena has been populated by a group who all used the same playbook. Well the world is seeing that, at least, President Trump and Ambassador Haley do not follow the rules in that book. And as you, Deanna, have so eloquently stated we are reveling at how easy it is to rewrite those rules and watch their world exposed as paper tigers.
Thank God she’s on our side!
Hillary Clinton can’t carry Nikki Haley’s water.
