The NFL has spoken. The Capital attack/riot/whatever must NOT be dissed. It was the WORST THING EVER according to the NFL and many others. Therefore when the Washington Redskins, Commanders these days, coach Jack Del Rio spoke about the riots, he was quickly schooled about his wrong speak.
Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio has been fined $100,000 for his comments earlier this week that referred to the attack on the U.S. Capitol in January 2021 as a “dustup.”
In a statement published on the team’s Twitter page Friday, Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said Del Rio’s comments did “not reflect the organization’s views and are extremely hurtful to our great community here in the DMV.”
Rivera also referenced Thursday night’s senate hearing on the Capitol attacks, calling the event an “act of domestic terrorism.”
You know what? I’d be fine with that “discipline” if it weren’t for the total hypocrisy of the NFL. In fact I wouldn’t be fine with that discipline on any level. Why? Let’s count the ways:
Players have been let off scot free after drunken brawls and drunk driving arrests
Players have been excused for violence against others
Players have been given slap on the wrist or their issue ignored when it comes to domestic violence
And then, let’s get into the nitty gritty of things. Dallas police officers were attacked and killed.
What does the NFL do in response to the Dallas Cowboy’s request? Hand out a solid NOPE, NOT ALLOWED..
Except that Colin Kaepernick, in the SAME year, could wear cop smearing pig socks to practice.
Here’s the Washington Commanders weasely statement.

Here’s Jack Del Rio’s tweet:
Would love to understand “the whole story “ about why the summer of riots, looting, burning and the destruction of personal property is never discussed but this is ???#CommonSense

Well, by damn, he’s not wrong! Billions has been lost due to property damage during those ‘fiery but mostly peaceful’ protests that left businesses burned to the ground, entire car dealerships torched, businesses permanently closed, and much more. Yet our media and political betters tell us to shut the hell up and never discuss the toxic riots of 2020 because George Floyd icon or some such shit!
The Washington Redskins are now the “commanders” because of woke political horseshit. The leadership, such as it is, within that organization and within the NFL are two-faced cowardly toadies.
Maybe Jack Del Rio needed to keep his job for the time being, as maybe getting kicked to the curb would’ve hit the pocket book hard… OR he caved to politically correct peer pressure.
That’s the ONLY reason I could think of the he issued the mea culpa.
Which, I know, it’s easy to do from a distance, but you know what? If Jack Del Rio had held his ground, there’d be a lot of Americans who’d be cheering him on.
“Why are we not looking into those things — if we’re going to talk about it — why are we not looking into those things?” Del Rio told reporters, according to ESPN. “I can look at images on the TV, people’s livelihoods are being destroyed, businesses are being burned down, no problem. And then we have a dustup at the Capitol, nothing burned down, and we’re going to make that a major deal.”
“I just think it’s kind of two standards, and if we apply the same standard and we’re going to be reasonable with each other, let’s have a discussion,” he continued. “That’s all it was. Let’s have a discussion.”
Meanwhile, as we navigate the Washington Commanders very colorfully painful logo…Did Jack Del Rio really say anything wrong?
No, no he did not. He asked a very reasonable question. Why aren’t the months-long riots of 2020 LESS important than the jackass idiots (NOT INSURRECTIONISTS!) who went into the United States Capitol on January 6, 2020?
I’m with this guy, and if I was Jack Del Rio, I’d tell the NFL the same thing.
The gov fucked over regular America with Covid, then let cities burn because democrats were having a tantrum, then left half of them feeling cheated and disenfranchised… and you're shocked none of them give a shit when pols got got temporarily discomforted for one day?

However, according to the NFL, please, whatever you do or say, do NOT diss the Capitol riots/incursion/attack! Don’t do it! However, it’s perfectly ok to sport pig socks while working out, or blatantly diss our National Anthem, and welcome all sorts of confused folks.
If you love this game, you are welcome here. Football is for all. Football is for everyone.

The NFL stands by the LGBTQ+ community today and every day.

But don’t you DARE question those who tell us that everything about January 6 is wrong. Don’t you dare question why billions of dollars in property damage in 2020 is much less important than idiots parading through the U.S. Capitol in 2021 who wore horns are.
And by all means, don’t you dare question the Constitutional due process that has been chucked into the gutter for any January 6 defendant.
Jack Del Rio asked the quiet questions loudly about the Capital Attack and I’m glad he did. Why? Because the NFL scrambling to cover up his remarks tells you the whole story. Political correctness is a one way street with the NFL and all the leftists they bow down to. Jack Del Rio is just a new casualty of the NFL political game. Woke doesn’t win Super Bowls and fan support, and the NFL may learn that the hard way.

It’s even worse than that. The “Commanderes” are being actively steamrolled by Congress as well. So they bend the knee.
We really need to use the “DeSantis Playbook” on these organizations. Don’t extend the Mickey Mouse copyright. Start enforcing anti-monopoly laws on the professional sports leagues. Remove Section 230 protections from the publishers at Meta, Google, Twitter, etc.
Not in the playbook, but it would be greatly helpful to finally extradite Soros to Hungary to face trial on the charges they’ve filed for his WW2 war crimes in their country.
I’m ashamed of Jack Del Rio for his withdrawing and apologizing for his perfectly rational comment. I’m hoping he decides, at the worst possible time for the Washington “Commanders” [what a dreadful name!] to resign.
Other than that, I don’t care. I don’t watch the NFL and haven’t since the teams and owners began kneeling.
