McConnell’s Speech Will Be Used Against Republicans In 2022

McConnell’s speech will be used against any Republican running for Congress in 2022. That is what Lindsey Graham had to say this morning, and he is correct.

““I think Sen. McConnell’s speech, he got a load off his chest, but unfortunately put a load on the back of Republicans,” Graham said. “That speech you will see in 2022 campaigns, I would imagine if you’re a Republican running in Georgia, Arizona, New Hampshire where we have a chance to take back the Senate, they may be playing Sen. McConnell’s speech and asking you about it if you’re a candidate.””

He is absolutely on target here. The Democrats will use McConnell’s speech to bludgeon any and all Republicans planning to run for office in 2022. Most especially, any Republican in the House or Senate who voted to acquit Trump will see ad after ad after ad run against them using footage from the U.S. Capitol and excerpts from McConnell’s speech.

Watch McConnell’s entire speech. Democrats are already fundraising off of it. Campaign ads are being planned now.

Furthermore, they will use Rep. Jaime Herrerra-Buetler’s supposed phone conversation with Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy as well.

She says the conversation was real and truly happened. A conversation that is complete hearsay. Here’s one recitation of hers regarding that discussion.

“Herrera Beutler described Republicans calling for the commander-in-chief to step in to no avail. One heated conversation between House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Trump was “chilling,” Herrera Beutler said.
“He said ‘well, Kevin, I guess they’re just more upset about this election theft than you are,’” she said. “The president was basically saying ‘nah, I’m OK with this.’”

“Did he send anyone in to help? No. But he did place calls to senators while they were in lockdown. And you know what he said? He said ‘can you do something to further delay the electoral counting?’””

Here’s the thing with her accounts. All of them are based upon a conversation she supposedly had with Kevin McCarthy at some point prior to the House Impeachment vote on January 13th. Why then wasn’t she running to CNN or MSNBC or the New York Times with this? They would’ve been ALL OVER this story with rabid glee. But they weren’t, and aren’t even now.

Perhaps it is because the media recognizes that her story doesn’t quite add up? That won’t matter to the Democrats. They will use McConnell’s speech as leverage against Republicans in any way they can.

“The Kentucky senator emphasized that “there is no question” Trump remains “practically and morally responsible” for provoking the Capitol riot, and that the rioters believed they were “acting on the wishes and instructions” of the president. “The leader of the free world cannot spend weeks thundering that shadowy forces are stealing our country and then feign surprise when people believe him and do reckless things,” added McConnell.”

Toward the end of his twenty-minute speech, McConnell said that the impeachment process was “never meant to be the final forum for American justice” and said the responsibility to deal with the actions of an ex-president fell on the criminal justice system or civil litigation system.”

There’s at least five Democrat ad campaigns in those two snippets alone. Then they’ll add in Nancy Pelosi’s remarks.

They probably will add her snottily ripping up President Trump’s State of the Union speech as a positive talking point. Which…it’s isn’t, but then, the Democrats are the ones who are the party of anger and division.

They are so bound and determined to pin the jackassery of those who went into the U.S. Capitol on President Trump while doing their absolute damndest to sweep under the rug the ten plus months of BLM and Antifa violence across our cities.

The Republicans need to be crafting ads of their own.

There are multiple ads that Republicans can craft off of this against the Democrats.

Russia Collusion debunked six ways to Sunday

Police precincts burned down while Democrats march

People killed at Seattle CHOP

Federal and state buildings vandalized constantly

Law enforcement attacked, ambushed, and killed

And this:

As we now know, at least one of those who benefited from Kamala’s call to donate to the bail fund has attacked other people and is now under arrest for the THIRD time on drug and weapons charges

There’s a plethoras of ads that the Republicans need to be crafting NOW and using NOW as well as during 2022.

Mitch McConnell may have done great work getting judges onto the bench, and hopefully they remain there during this Biden Administration. However, his speech on Saturday has done some damage. His words will be used against Republicans, and Republicans need to be prepared to counter that and fight back with ads and commentary of their own. Will they? If we want a government run BY the people and FOR the people, they’d better grab their spine and be ready.

If Mitch McConnell runs again, I will not vote for him. I hope that a true conservative will challenge him in the primary if he does seek re-election to the Senate.

I do know this. When I die I want six Republicans to be my pallbearers, so the Republicans can let me one more time.

Graham is right that this will hurt Republicans in 2022, but for the wrong reason. It won’t be Democrats using this against Republicans, it will be Conservatives who use this against Republicans, because McConnell has exposed himself and the Deep State to be enemies of Conservative values. Republicans are as corrupt as the Democrats, and maybe even worse, they do not show their true colors like Democrats do. They are spineless and do not work or represent Conservative America. They exposed themselves during the tenuous and dangerous time and deserve our condemnation accordingly.
