If you were on Twitter at any time on Saturday, you probably saw the hashtag #IStandWithErica. The “Erica” who was trending is GA state Rep. Erica Thomas, who claimed she was the victim of racism in a Publix grocery store in Atlanta.
But in case you missed it, here’s Erica’s side of the story:
Of course woke celebrities had to pile on without bothering to check facts. Naturally they also blamed Trump for the incident because. . . well, they’re like GEICO. It’s what they do.

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio, who is a bottom feeder in the Democratic candidate swamp, tweeted this:
Let’s be clear: this is on @realDonaldTrump and every single person who refuses to condemn his vile racism. #IStandWithErica https://t.co/Asx5kZaqbs

And, then there’s BuzzFeed, which has a habit of publishing without verifying those pesky facts:
A Georgia lawmaker emotionally described being told this week to "go back" to where she came from: "I'm from America. It really hurt me so bad" https://t.co/ByfftlMCSn

However, the alleged racist in this sordid saga didn’t back down from Thomas and her account. Instead, Eric Sparkes took his story to a local TV outlet in Atlanta, GA. Here’s his version of what went down:
Here’s more of Eric Sparkes side. @itsericathomas says he’s lying. She says a manager at Publix told her there is surveillance video, but that it doesn’t have audio. @itsericathomas is pregnant and due in less than 3 weeks. Of course Erica Thomas wants to see Sparkes “held accountable.” Now I’m not sure what he can be held “accountable” for — I’m not from GA so I don’t know if they have an obscure law that says it’s illegal to be rude to a pregnant woman. But police are investigating for. . . something. Meanwhile poor Publix went into damage control:
“At Publix we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming shopping experience for all our customers. We are cooperating with local law enforcement as they look into the matter.”
But there’s even more to this story, friends. You see, not only does Eric Sparkes claim to be Cuban, he’s also a Democrat.
“This woman, Ms. Thomas, is playing the victim for political purposes because she is a state legislator.”
“I’m a Democrat and will vote Democrat for the rest of my life, so call me whatever you want to believe. For her political purposes, make it black, white, brown, whatever. It is untrue.
What’s more, he’s a Trump-hating Democrat.
In fact, here are two screenshots from his Facebook page, which he has, as of this writing, conveniently deleted:
Well, well, here we have two anti-Trump Democrats holding a pissing match about who’s a racist. Frankly, as far as I’m concerned they both stink to high heaven. In one corner we have Sparkes, a jerk who picked a fight with a pregnant black woman over a grocery store line. In the opposite corner, we have Thomas who wanted to be Jussie Smollett, Southern-style. And because she’s a GA state rep, she thought she could really make political hay out of this, too.
But now Thomas is kinda, sorta, walking back her accusation that Sparkes told her to go back to where she came from. She must’ve reconsidered when she found out he was a Democrat.
Oh shocking. He didn’t tell her to go back to where she came from. The truth is finally emerging. pic.twitter.com/mCu7aY6XSd

I guess the woke folks will declare the winner by assigning intersectionality points. But I think Thomas and Sparkes are both fools, because I use common sense.
Meanwhile, the nation is compressing itself into critical mass over racism, racism everywhere, as far as the eye can see. I really dread what could eventually happen.

Actually, I’d suggest that they’re both correct.. being demonrats, and by their own comments, they are BOTH racists…
When your video has 40 seconds of “please subscribe” and such, and it’s ~2:30 long, I might have a hard time believing your histrionics.
It’s also amazing how fast the outrage phrase du jour gets into the mouths of all these ‘awful racists’ and such. The media picks out a phrase or other element, and suddenly accusations abound where that element features prominently. Odd dat.
She accused, then backtracked, now she’s going back to her original story. Next Trump rally opening song?
