Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.
Happy Sunday, dear friends! Our first Sunday in May and spring is really showing up all over. I now live in the PNW and my rhododendrons are a riot of blossoms. It’s been another week of weirdness, not the least of which is how Pravda media can’t settle on a narrative over the WHCD shooting and third attempt on President Trump’s life. The would-be assassin leaves a manifesto that sounds like mainstream Dems and suddenly it’s all off the newsfeed or there is burbles that it was all “staged” and a “hoax”. And either way, you know the drill, it’s all Trump’s fault.
Here, let me pass you some chilled champagne but I’m going to have a double Bloody Mary to start. Do feel free to join me, I’ll get us all rides home. Let’s get to it. L’Chaim!

Well, this is the sickest thing I’ve seen in a minute.
These people are NOT OK.
MAKE ASYLUMS GREAT AGAIN. pic.twitter.com/43o4XsyzS4

It’s not just a lack of asylums, but a lack of will from those of us who have let The Woke define was is acceptable, least we be called “intolerant”. Dears, we all gotta grow a thicker skin and stop accepting this. With vigor.

The Woke are not giving up.
A math education professor at the University of Illinois has argued in a recently published academic book that algebraic and geometry skills perpetuate “unearned privilege” among white people.
Rochelle Gutierrez, a professor at the University of Illinois, made the claim in a anthology for math teachers, arguing that teachers must be aware of the “politics that mathematics brings” in society.
In the book chapter, the professor explains that she sees her role as a math educator not just in the way of an educator, but that of an activist against whiteness, which she claims facilitates “microagresssions” and “privilege” between those who excel in math and those who do not.
“On many levels, mathematics itself operates as Whiteness. Who gets credit for doing and developing mathematics, who is capable in mathematics, and who is seen as part of the mathematical community is generally viewed as White,” Gutierrez argued.
Don’t get stuck in the argument she presents as “math is White” but in the results. Just as the Woke claim that such things as grammar and spelling is “Whiteness” to be shunned, the math claim is similar because the goal here is to cripple the ability of the youngsters under it to effectively communicate or even think.
Mobs of frustrated dullards are easily manipulated and controlled. This is a feature, not a bug, of “anti-Whiteness”.

Because I want to be understood when I say I’m tired of sounding like a broken record …
A man was arrested for recording pornographic content of at least 65 women in an "all-gender" restroom at Kansas City Airport.

I’m sure you all will be shocked to find out that PresidentAutoPen’s admin conspired to illegally funnel taxpayer money to one of its favorite, pro-death businesses.
Small Business Administration officials disbursed and forgave loans to Planned Parenthood and its affiliates even after the agency determined that the group is not a small business that would be eligible. Top officials, including Biden SBA Administrator Isabella Guzman, concealed their maneuvering on the topic by substituting the words Planned Parenthood with “Benghazi” in emails, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), who chairs the committee that oversees the agency, revealed Monday.
“We now know that after the SBA Biden officials met, planned and strategized (over ‘Benghazi’), keeping the White House involved, approximately $90 million in Planned Parenthood SBA PPP loans and interest on the loans were forgiven by the Biden administration,” she said.

All Things Considered did a story about the shooter, addressing the question of whether he had been radicalized by left-wing content on the internet. The host concluded that, no, actually, his views are really quite mainstream. The correspondent chimed in to ask whether this…

Three assassination attempts on Trump. Charlie Kirk assassinated. Assassination attempt on Justice Kavanaugh. Countless examples of Conservatives stalked, threatened, and assaulted. Yet Pravda media and Democrats would have you believe that violence is a Rightwing phenom.
One of the major sources is the Prosecution Project, an initiative of the University of Cincinnati, which analyzes felony criminal cases involving political violence and sorts them by ideology. “The project examines criminal complaints, indictments and court records, looking for crimes that seek ‘a socio-political change or to communicate’ to outside audiences,” per The Economist. “Its data show that extremists on both left and right commit violence, although more incidents appear to come from right-leaning attackers.”
Yet if you pull up the data center yourself, you can see immediately that it is deeply flawed.
The data set doesn’t include either of the previous two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life, as far as I can tell; a search for the time frame and the names of the would-be assassins turns up zero hits. Nor does it include the assassination of Charlie Kirk. The data set is based on prosecutions, which might explain the absence of Thomas Crooks, who died at Butler. But what explains the absence of Trump’s other would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, or Tyler Robinson, who killed Charlie Kirk? I couldn’t find Elias Rodriguez on the list either, who shot and killed two people outside the Jewish Museum in D.C. in May of 2025 to protest the war in Gaza.
It’s pretty easy to say that the violence is coming overwhelmingly from the Right if you overwhelmingly edit out any political violence from the Left.

Holy moly, look at the time! Another Sunday brunch has come to a close. But it is a glorious spring day just begging for an embrace. Carpe Diem, dear friends and I’ll see you next week. Cheers!

That math “education” professor? I think he’s saying only white people can do math. Surely that can’t be right. I’m sure Victor Glover, pilot of the Artemis II mission, had to learn some math for his career. (BTW, that’s the “Artemis Two” mission, not “Artemis Eleven”.)
