For the longest time, the left has tried to beat the right over the head with how much better and holier they were when it came to COVID.

It has gotten to the point that contracting COVID required a confession of sins, moral self-flagellation, and repentance to the COVID high priest Dr. Anthony Fauci. If you did not follow these steps, then you, the heretic, were to be cast out as “unclean” and not fit to be around the COVID Pharisees of the media, the left, and public health.

But now, Omicron is coming for all. And while public health officials are still trying to drum up panic about THIS IS THE BIG ONE THAT WILL KILL US ALL, the evidence out of South Africa (the birthplace of Omicron) is actually looking… not nearly as bad as public health experts in the West want to predict.

The reason Omicron is coming for us all is because as scientists study it, they have discovered that it is rapidly breeding in the upper respiratory system, making for quick and dirty transmission by simply breathing or sneezing. However, Omicron looks like it’s not able to do the same type of lung damage as Delta – which means it looks to be less deadly.

Compared to the earlier Delta variant, Omicron multiplies itself 70 times more quickly in tissues that line airway passages, which may facilitate person-to-person spread, (researchers) said. But in lung tissues, Omicron replicates 10 times more slowly than the original version of the coronavirus, which might contribute to less-severe illness.”

A formal report of the findings is under peer review for publication and has not been released by the research team. In a news release issued by Hong Kong University, study leader Dr. Michael Chan Chi-wai said, “It is important to note that the severity of disease in humans is not determined only by virus replication” but also by each person’s immune response to the infection, which sometimes evolves into life-threatening inflammation.”

Chan added, “By infecting many more people, a very infectious virus may cause more severe disease and death even though the virus itself may be less pathogenic. Therefore, taken together with our recent studies showing that the Omicron variant can partially escape immunity from vaccines and past infection, the overall threat from Omicron variant is likely to be very significant.”

To someone who is fully vaccinated, Omicron might be nothing more than a severe cold. Seeing as coronaviruses are often the cause of the common cold, this really shouldn’t come as a shock. COVID-19, of course, was different because it was “novel,” brand-new and never seen before. But we don’t go around shaming people for catching colds, because that would be stupid. COVID, however, was treated as a different beast from Day One. That made sense when we didn’t know what it was in early 2020. It’s almost two years later, and we’re still participating in pandemic theater, pretending as if we have learned nothing.

So here comes High Priest Fauci, announcing that masks should be worn forever on airplanes. You see, airline executives had the nerve to point out that the air inside the plane is scrubbed by HEPA filters every couple of minutes, so catching anything on a plane hasn’t really happened. Those comments didn’t sit well with Fauci, who was ready to shame all into repentance.

Yeah, that’s a hard no. And the smug Congressman who still hasn’t explained his “relationship” with a Chinese spy, Eric Swalwell, is OUTRAGED that the unclean unvaccinated are “allowed” on airplanes.

On a flight now to Bay Area and it is one-hundred percent batty that the unvaccinated are allowed to fly. It’s unsafe in the cabin and we are transporting the virus. Requiring the vaccine to fly is the LEAST we can do to stop the spread.

I could have sworn that Joe Biden said we only had a “pandemic among the unvaccinated.” Well… looks like that talking point is getting hauled off and thrown straight out the window.

Some of Biden’s advisers are encouraging the administration to begin discussing publicly how to live alongside a virus that shows no signs of disappearing, a potentially stark shift in messaging for a White House that once touted “freedom from the virus.”

Steering public attention away from the total number of infections and toward serious cases only — as some Biden advisers have encouraged — could prove a challenge after nearly two years of intense focus on the pandemic’s every up and down. It is a part of a growing conundrum that Biden faces as the Covid-19 pandemic refuses to abate.”

“We’re getting to the point now where … it’s about severity,” said Xavier Becerra, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, in a meeting with reporters this week. “It’s not about cases. It’s about severity.”

Becerra said the issue recently arose during a meeting at the White House with Biden’s Covid response team. Other officials also said the issue of how to refocus the public away from total cases toward the severity of illness has been an ongoing subject of discussion within the administration.”

“There’s a degree of difficulty that now comes in trying to decide what means it’s severe and what you have to do to stay out of that threshold of severity,” Becerra said. “But I think that’s where we’re heading, is to try to be able to tell the public that.”

Joe Biden made a promise he could never keep – that he alone could “shut down the virus.” He failed, and now the messaging has to change. His Democrat allies, all vaccinated and boosted, are still contracting COVID. Kamala Harris admitted that they “didn’t see” Delta or Omicron coming for them (which the White House tried to walk back). Biden is now scheduled to give a speech on Tuesday (he has to practice it first) on Omicron. Is Biden going to double down on the scolding and shaming? Or, with reality slapping the White House in the face and Democrats dropping with symptomatic COVID (how many more senators are going to come down with it now?), will President Brandon make an attempt to follow Colorado Governor Jared Polis’s example, and tell everyone that the emergency is over and they’re on their own now? As much as he should do the latter, his desire to continue the “forever pandemic” means that he can’t. It would have to take some very bad internal polling for Biden to back off his campaign of COVID shaming now.
