And so it seems 10 years has been enough for D.C Mayor, Muriel Bowser, who announced yesterday that she won’t be running again.
Um…Good Riddance?
My fellow Washingtonians, for 10 years, you and I have worked together on an ambitious agenda to restore faith in our government and ensure that every D.C. resident gets the fair shot they deserve. To keep that promise, we took big swings, keeping D.C. teams in D.C., raising enrollment and graduation rates in our schools, and investing more money in housing than any other city or state, creating 36,000 homes.
We also brought our city back from the ravages of a global pandemic and summoned our collective strength to stand tall against bullies who threaten our very autonomy, while preserving home rule. That is our North Star. Looking to the future, I know we’ve laid the groundwork for others to build upon, to reshape and grow D.C.’s economy, establish D.C. as the 51st state, and protect our investments in affordable housing, transportation, public safety, and public schools.
When you placed your trust in me 10 years ago, you gave me an extraordinary opportunity to have a positive impact on my hometown. Every day since, I’ve cherished the opportunity and have happily given all my passion and energy to the job that I love. Together, you and I have built a legacy of success, of which I’m intensely proud, and for the next 12 months, let’s run through the tape and keep winning for D.C.”-Muriel Bowser
Ambitious agenda to “get the fair shot every D.C. resident deserves”? Did this include denying kids even a ZOOM class when COVID vaccine mandates rolled out. Muriel? Seems the D.C. mayor was content to let students not learn their reading, writing and arithmetic.
Still, Democrat sycophants are commending Mayor Bowser on her “commitment” to Washingtonians:
Mayor Muriel Bowser, thank you for your service and for all that you have done for our community, as well as for strengthening Washington, DC’s economic power and overall economic growth. You have given so much of yourself, and now it’s time for you to have time for you.

For real? All that she’s done for the community?
D.C.’s violent crime rate ranks among the worst of major cities. It is the fourth highest of the 25 most populous citiesand runs 35% above their average violent crime rate.
The picture looks even bleaker when you widen the lens. Among the 500 U.S. cities with more than 50,000 residents that report data, D.C. holds the third highest robbery rate.”-Crimeresearch.org, August, 2025
Despite this heinous crime rate, Bowser pushed back on Trump sending the National Guard troops to D.C. A move that actually proved to be effective in the reduction of crime.
Having more federal law enforcement officers on the street — [has led to] having more stops that got to illegal guns. We think that there is more accountability in the system, or at least perceived accountability in the system, that is driving down illegal behavior. We know that we have had fewer gun crimes, fewer homicides, and we have experienced an extreme reduction in carjackings.”-Muriel Bowser
Who would’ve thunk it?
There were the increased crime rates with the help of drive-by shootings, fake cosmetology licenses…
… and let’s not forget, the trips to Qatar-an “awkward distraction“, as noted by Axios.
The Qatar visit was part of a Middle East trip. Before flying to the U.N. Climate Conference in Dubai, Bowser and four aides stopped in Qatar’s capital city of Doha.
Qatar paid $61,000 for round-trip tickets and two nights at a hotel, as originally reported by ABC 7, which scrutinized the Bowser administration’s shifting answers about who picked up the tab. (Bowser’s aide initially told Qatari officials the city would pay their own way, according to an email acquired via FOIA by WAMU.)
Bowser’s office described it as a ‘business trip’ to promote “Washington as a destination for investment and growth.”-Cuneyt Dil, Axios
Seems as if we’ve seen enough of Bowser’s “bold and pragmatic” (according to The New York Times).
Bold. Pragmatic.
What a woman of the people… don’t know too many “of the people” who can afford a vacation at Martha’s Vineyard

Looks like she will be spending more time in Martha’s Vineyard. In fact, she’ll have all of the time in the world.
