Wray: FBI Shouldn’t Have Investigated Parents

FBI Director Christopher Wray during his testimony, admitted something that we already knew, but is now on record. There was no compelling reason whatsoever for the FBI to investigate parents over their conduct at local school board meetings.

Keep in mind, as we’ve noted here time and again, Merrick Garland tap-danced his way around the barn for some time before admitting that the DOJ memo did indeed target parents. Thus parents who spoke out on behalf of their children were supposed to be investigated by the FBI. Yet the powers that be AT the FBI have been insistent that no such investigation happened.

GOP lawmakers accused the bureau of pursuing politically charged investigations to damage former President Donald Trump, the current frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, and retaliating against parents and whistleblowers. Their Democratic colleagues, meanwhile, largely rushed to the bureau’s defense and said it is Trump who committed wrongdoing with his handling of sensitive government documents, conduct for which he is facing federal charges.

“The idea that I am biased against conservatives seems somewhat insane to me given my own personal background,” Wray, a registered Republican, said in response to accusations he has used the FBI to target conservatives.

At the start of the hearing, Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan provided a roadmap of the array of issues Republicans have with the FBI, among them its August 2022 court-authorized search of Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s South Florida resort; the alleged retaliation against whistleblowers who spoke to congressional investigators; and purported efforts to suppress conservative viewpoints.

Quite frankly, at this juncture it doesn’t matter what political party Wray belongs to. What matters is the orders given to the FBI agents during his tenure. And that’s where this admission from Wray regarding parents and school boards comes into play.

Except there’s only one problem with his assertion. There wasn’t a compelling reason to conduct an investigation, but they DID SO ANYWAY!!

Keep in mind, this targeting of parents was indeed a type of censorship. Schools boards and teachers unions had been demonstrating that they didn’t like being questioned by parents; so the threat of, or actual investigations were used as a means of silencing them.

Thus it was instructive to see the left go bat crap crazy over the social media censorship injunctions imposed by Judge Doughty  last week, and then have Wray admit the meetings did actually take place!

You see according to some in the media, censoring social media and/or parents is ok if they dare go against the chosen narratives. It’s all in the name of public health or safety.

Wray tried his best to distance himself from the Garland parent memo controversy.

He also distanced himself somewhat from one of the Biden administration’s own controversies — a 2021 memo from Attorney General Merrick Garland instructing the FBI to work with local leaders to address what Garland called “a disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence” against educators and school board members over issues such as mask mandates and curriculum.

But again, it doesn’t take much to connect the dots and realize that yes, parents WERE investigated.

Except when you actually read Wray’s testimony, how would they know if there was or wasn’t an uptick in threats of harassment or violence if there wasn’t any investigations conducted? How would they know if this was a useless exercise that the FBI wasn’t engaged in, yet Wray also stated in his testimony that no parent was federally charged??

If no parent was federally charged, that can mean only ONE thing. Parents WERE investigated and the FBI came up with less than zero.

And Wray along with the Democrats wonder why people don’t trust the FBI anymore?
