Ilhan Omar is a disgrace. Her anti-semitism is loud and clear. Yet for some inexplicable reason, Nancy Pelosi gave her a seat on the House Foreign Affairs committee. Whereupon Ilhan immediately dug holes for herself with her slams against Israel and AIPAC. As Marta pointed out here, her remorse for those remarks lasted about 30 seconds. Today President Trump called her out. 

Of course, pearls were clutched and the media apologists swung into higher gear on her behalf.

Good golly, I don’t even have to read that article to know that Beinart is chock full of crap. Meanwhile, this is Politico’s headline this morning.

I’m still picking my jaw up off the floor at that one! Especially since the article contains this gem. 

The GOP strategy risks a backlash — a party that has problems with women and minorities continues to focus its attacks on women of color — even as the freshman Democrats say they’re not surprised by it.

Tlaib told POLITICO she’s become a lightning rod for conservatives because her profile isn’t one that has historically been seen in the halls of Congress.

“I think the fact that somebody like myself, who’s a woman of color, is now an equal to many of them — people are very fearful of that,” Tlaib said.

Along with this:

Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington, one of most outspoken progressive Democrats, blasted Republicans for focusing so much attention on Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Omar.

“This is sort of a fear-mongering and a bit of insecurity among the fact that most of these women have far bigger Twitter followings than any of them ever could hope for,” Jayapal said. ” I think they just don’t know what to do with powerful women of color. I’ve felt that before … in this chamber and I think it’s a new level because there’s so many more of us now.”

See a recurring theme there? The GOP and conservatives are blasting AOC, Tlaib, and Omar because of their COLOR.

Guess what? I could care less about what color of skin those three women have. What DOES piss me off is AOC’s grandstanding and idiotic unsustainable cow fart crap.

What DOES piss me off is that Tlaib is making it her mission and goal to ‘impeach the m*th**f***er’, thinks Louis Farrakhan is totally amazing, is best pals with Linda Sarsour, and firmly believes that Palestine is an actual country.

What DOES piss me off is that Ilhan Omar’s history is suspect, and she has made it abundantly clear that her anti-semitism is part and parcel of who she is. Why else would she issue such a crappy fence straddling non-apology, and then immediately subtweet her racism and slam AIPAC once more? Not only that, but this announcement, AFTER her apology, shows exactly how remorseful she is. *Hint, she could care less.

Having Linda Sarsour and Tamika Mallory go to bat for you Ilhan is really not a good look.

Understandably, President Trump was not amused by Ilhan’s antics.

He’s right. Omar SHOULD resign from the committee. In fact, Pelosi should kick her off. But you know what? I bet it won’t happen. Why? Jonathan Tobin has an idea.

The reason for this is obvious. Democrats, including many of those running for president, fear their party’s hard-left base is sympathetic to Omar and Tlaib.

And…

And while The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin cheered Pelosi’s swift response to Omar, days earlier she had claimed that, “in the Democratic Party, unlike the Republican Party, racism gets no sanctuary. The Democratic Party of 2019 simply will not abide by a white governor’s racist play-acting,” referring to Virgina Gov. Ralph Northam’s blackface scandal.

Talk about fence straddling!

Trump was absolutely right to call for Omar to at least resign from her committee seat. Will she? It’ll happen ONLY if the Democrat party decides that she is too toxic for them.
