The Left’s Human Trafficking Histrionics

No sooner had the residents of Martha’s Vineyard booted those 50 illegal immigrants, a new narrative started circulating. Governors Abbott and DeSantis are engaged in human trafficking!

Of course, it wasn’t just the crew at Morning Joe who tossed that human trafficking and kidnapping narrative out there. Hillary had to chime in because…Hillary.

“Well, I think, Joe, you have laid out the craziness of the time in which we’re living, where some politicians would rather not only have an issue, but exacerbate it to the extent of literally human trafficking, as you said,” Clinton began in response, adding:

Clinton concluded by calling for systemic change regarding immigration. “Because, Joe, it is so clear that despite efforts and when I was in the Senate, I think probably when you were in Congress, there was a lot of talk about immigration reform and we kept trying to get close.”

Except, as you read through this Twitter thread, you’ll find out the Democrats, Hillary included, didn’t get close on ANYTHING regarding closing our borders or addressing illegal immigration as a whole.

Back to the histrionic human trafficking narrative the left is peddling. Elie Mystal, a supposed legal expert, described the Martha’s Vineyard and Kamala Harris events as both human trafficking and kidnapping. DeSantis is like a ‘pervert with a van.’

Columnist for The Nation Elie Mystal said on MSNBC Saturday that Gov. Ron DeSantis and staff who helped organize sending migrants to Martha’s Vineyard this week should be charged with kidnapping but not human trafficking, according to how he “reads the law,” comparing their actions to tricking “White teenagers” into a van with promises of candy and Disney.

In fact, he wrote a lengthy article about it which also infers his father was human trafficked from New York to the University of Denver to play soccer. How that compares with his later assertions that this is only a Republican issue is quite the stretch.

I do not know why treating brown people like unwanted garbage so titillates the Republican MAGA base. I do not know how white media pundits at major publications and outlets can refer to this situation as a “policy debate.” I do not know what the specific defect is in the MAGA Republican psyche that allows them to order, authorize, or support forced or coerced relocation as one option among many. All I know for sure is that treating children as sub-creatures who can be bused cross-country for the sole purpose of trolling the opposition party is what makes Abbott and DeSantis the actual sub-creatures. This… stunt… is monstrous, and anybody who supports or both-sides it is either a monster themselves or far too comfortable with monstrosity for my taste.

Let’s not remind him of the planeloads of illegals Biden has and IS sneakily sending around the country at night and dumping those folks into red states (and some blue as many have been dropped off in New York as well.). That doesn’t fit Mystal’s narrative, so he’s ignoring it with all his might. Instead, Mystal and others on the left have declared that this political stunt means the Governors of Florida and Texas should be charged with kidnapping and human trafficking.

And the lemmings are following suit. In fact, quite a few people are now asserting that the newest definition of both is using powerless people as a political strategy, literally shipping them to a “woke” jurisdiction far from the border, where the infrastructure exists to house and/or process them for deportation.

So now we have a new definition of IS to deal with. Lovely.

Back to Mystal’s histrionics. In the realm of bad legal takes, Mystal using Matthew McConaughey movie lines as PROOF wins the gold medal.

However, kidnapping is a thing. Kidnapping by trick is a thing. Telling people that you are going to take them one place and sending them someplace else is a form of kidnapping. And I can prove that to you if I do the Matthew McConaughey thing, ‘Now imagine they were White.’ Imagine Ron DeSantis goes up to a group of White teenagers, offers them some candy, and says, ‘Hey, I’m going to take you to Disney World if you get in my van.’ And then Ron DeSantis drives them to Busch Gardens. That’s kidnapping. You’re not allowed to do that.

The histrionics around this are unreal and serve to obscure something we’ve pointed out and Ted Cruz bluntly pointed out yesterday. By the left’s new definition, Joe Biden is the biggest human trafficker around.

As far as the new definitions go, Jonathan Turley, in an op-ed in The Hill, also points out that this human trafficking and kidnapping have been standard procedure with Biden from the start.

Yes indeed. Despite the histrionics, the Democrats KNOW that they are in the wrong.

Hence their attempt to turn the narrative around and redefine human trafficking and kidnapping.

  • Moving people around without a rake-off for the Democrats – evil.

Moving people around with a rake-off for the Democrats – virtuous.

I guess there aren’t any whorehouses or pedo palaces in Martha’s Vineyard or around the Naval Observatory.
