File this under the heading of “Well, if we can’t win playing by the rules, let’s change the rules to suit ourselves.” That’s seriously what this latest attempt by the Democrats is. They will do anything and everything to ignore reality.
“The Electors require to know from the intelligence community whether there are ongoing investigations into ties between Donald Trump, his campaign or associates, and Russian government interference in the election, the scope of those investigations, how far those investigations may have reached, and who was involved in those investigations,” the letter read. “We further require a briefing on all investigative findings, as these matters directly impact the core factors in our deliberations of whether Mr. Trump is fit to serve as President of the United States.”
Oh really?? You REQUIRE a briefing before you decide to cast your vote? You REQUIRE …actually you are DEMANDING that you get read into matters of major national security before check your box for Hillary? Wow. I mean seriously WOW. How arrogant are you?
Quite a bit I gather, especially since Hillary via John Podesta is totally on board with this because…
their letter “raises very grave issues involving our national security” and that “Electors have a solemn responsibility under the Constitution and we support their efforts to have their questions addressed.”
Oh I’m sure you support it! After all Hillary, you were supposed to win right? Too bad a WHOLE lot of voters felt differently.
Here’s why, IMO, these “requirements” are not only wrong, they shouldn’t have been entertained in the first place
1. Exactly how many states went Hillary? 18 out of 50 states. That’s it. Just EIGHTEEN states. OUCH.
2. The CIA story about Russian hacking that broke just the other day? All the electors involved in this demand need a refresher course in reading comprehension. Article was chock full of unnamed sources and everything discussed by those oh so secret sources was info that was “alleged.” No facts, no details, just allegations spewing from sources in the CIA who are playing politics.
3. They want to discuss Russian hacking? They are going to the wrong source. They need to ask Obama and the White House about the Russian hack that shut the White House down for WEEKS in 2014. Yes, 2014. The guys at Powerline were instrumental in breaking THAT story.
4. When the White House denies framing Russia for the hacks, even though the President ordered an investigation several days earlier…
You may want to rethink your strategy.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest says there was no evidence of hacks impacting counting and/or casting of ballots

4. Exactly how many of the ten electors have enough of or ANY security clearance at all? They are demanding a major intelligence brief and likely don’t have the classification to even be in the same room with the information! Anyone ELSE see a problem with that?
5. The FBI and the Congressional Intelligence committees are investigating. But that evidently hasn’t stopped calls for a special committee.
@MitchMcConell Putting party politics & personal $ gains above protecting our democracy. It's not too late to do the right thing.

Evidently the “right thing” is to have our electoral college look at classified material. Yeah, NO. And finally
Hillary Clinton not accepting the election results is undermining the very foundations of our Democracy. This is dangerous. https://t.co/Q4gRp0inQ6

He’s right. Certainly there are some politics involved. Those politics involve casting your vote for the one who won the popular vote in YOUR state. Rewriting the rules of the Electoral College and specifically the rules of the Constitution just because your favorite person didn’t win undermines our very freedoms and it completely undermines this Republic.
Note to The Electoral Ten. The desperation you and Hillary Clinton are exhibiting is becoming a major embarrassment. You need to stop making unreasonable demands to suit your imaginary narrative, and you need to stop NOW.
Given the enthusiasm that Donal Trump has generated since Election Day and the hopefulness so many people have about his presidency, I can not even begin to imagine the ramifications should this victory be “stolen” from him and us.
I have a disquietude about all this, in varying degrees, that persists. There’s just so much in the way of power and dollars that’s at stake. The fact that Trump is getting “nailed” from both sides suggests to me that he is, indeed, the man for the job.
Even if nothing becomes of the challenges to the election, it seems the nation will continue to experience turmoil and crisis for some time, perhaps even years. Prayers for America!
I would hope nothing comes of this challenge. Otherwise we will indeed continue in turmoil and crisis.
The fact that many cannot let things go regarding this election is definitely disquieting. Particularly in light of how our Republic is and should be governed.
Prayers indeed for America!
Don’t believe the intent was ever to get Hillary 270+ votes, although that unlikely outcome would have been a “best-case” brass ring they were shooting for.
No, the intent is to get Trump’s total under 270, so no one is elected by the Electoral College.
In that case, the House of Representatives must elect the President from the top three Electoral vote-getters, and the Senate elects the Vice-President from the top two Electoral vote-getters.
Besides having the chance to buy/bully/blackmail enough congressmen to get Hillary in (another long shot but possible), the Democrats could at least go forward with the script that Trump’s presidency was even more “illegitimate” – not only did he not get the popular vote (like that matters), but he didn’t even get the Electoral College, and instead was “installed” in power by a bunch of Republicans in Congress.
Typical Democrat shenanigans…
Those politics involve casting your vote for the one who won the popular vote in YOUR state.
Actually, that should be “according to the law in YOUR state”. One state (ME) awards some of their electors proportionally. And a few have adopted that “national popular vote” stupidity (thank goodness it only kicks in at a critical mass).
I’m only slightly worried about these doofi (that’s proper plural for ‘doofus’ 😉 ) seeing classified info. Just put it on Hillary’s email. I’m mostly concerned about the portrayal of this thing as absolute and certain – despite this election, loads of folks still believe the MSM.
And Johnny’s thoughts are where the real threat lies: ultimately the progs believe they really shouldn’t have to subject themselves to the will of the people, since they are our natural masters. What gambit(s) will they not employ to destroy our democratic republic?
GWB – love the doofi bit! Good point on the law correction. Thanks!
I’m a bit worried about the doofi seeing classified intel because they would be going in (if the intelligence community caves and lets them) with ulterior motives that have little to do with changing the outcome of the election. And I wouldn’t trust ANY of them with ANY classified information at all… PERIOD.
Completely agree with Johnny’s thoughts as well.
I don’t trust them either. But I doubt the CIA info is really all that deep with sources or methods. Certainly nothing like a TSI/NF/TK bit of imagery.
