It’s not enough that the slimy underbelly that is Hollywood has had a bright nasty light shown on it. Nope. All of y’all persist in showcasing the left as if they are magical beings who are the ONLY people who matter in this country. Case in point? This announcement.
Sandra Bullock will star in the spec “Let Her Speak” as Texas senator Wendy Davis, whose 11-hour filibuster helped stall an anti-abortion bill in the Texas state house.
Todd Black and Jason Blumenthal are on board to produce through their Escape Artists banner.
At the time, Davis was a little known Democratic senator who soon became a national icon on the subject of abortion after filibustering for 11 hours in order to stall a bill, and ultimately delaying its passage beyond the midnight deadline for the end of the legislative session. The bill would have included more restrictive abortion regulations for Texas and would have closed all abortion clinics in the state.
Everyone in Hollywood will tout this as a blockbuster. But reality called $$ will bite HARD. It will tank just like the misguided Valerie Plame movie did. Or worse.
Who is Wendy Davis? We’ve written about Abortion Barbie more than a few times. A few samples are here, here, here, and here.
Needless to say, I have to wonder how the script will portray Wendy, “Abortion Barbie” Davis? Will they go with the fawning Vogue story she helped peddle?
Or will they actually show that Wendy lied about her struggles in life, lied about how poor she was, lied about how she got into Harvard and paid for it, and well … lied about pretty much everything?
Yeah No. Forget that. We are talking about Hollywood. Reality and Truth isn’t their gig. On the other hand, bending the truth and reality to fit their narrative (read the Left’s narrative) IS their gig these days.

Yes, indeed. Hollywood continues to demonstrate their cluelessness as to what Americans want to see. The movie about Valerie Plame? Having Robert Redford involved couldn’t even make it work! Other movies with a serious Left bent tanked BIGLY.
Meanwhile the movies that resonated with Americans everywhere?

American Sniper
Taking Chance
Patriot Games
Schindlers List
Saving Private Ryan
Those are just a very few of the movies that didn’t cram Leftist dreck down our throats and in fact spoke highly of all that is American, and viewers responded favorably.
However, this movie about Wendy Davis will tank. Period.
Think about it. Grandstanding, excuses, and more were part and parcel of Wendy’s pink sneaker clad filibuster.
Yet since then, and particularly in the last 2 years we’ve all seen horrific revelation after horrific revelation as to how heinous Planned Parenthood and abortion really is. We’ve written about all of it here.
Wendy herself is a fan of magazines that tout showing teenagers how to practice anal sex!

A. Harpers Bazaar is stupid. B. Wendy – good luck on that whole Period Equity thing. It will be about as effective as the 11 hour filibuster touting how good it is to murder babies. Which is to say, both are epically heinous.
And don’t get me started on her gun control schtick.
Therefore, given the fact that much of America REALLY doesn’t like Planned Parenthood or abortion, why would a movie advocating murdering babies be a good idea right now? Hint, it isn’t.

One final note. Wendy’s grandstanding sneaker clad 11 hour filibuster? It momentarily stopped the bill from continuing on. However, in the very next session the bill passed with flying colors.
My prediction? A movie celebrating the murder of babies will be an epic failure at the box office and Sandra Bullock’s career will never be the same.

Leland says: The only thing surprising here is summed up by Kurt Schlichter’s tweet. I know Sandra Bullock is hardly a friend of Abe. But she’s done a fairly decent job of not being an ugly partisan, thus able to attract viewers from the right. This doesn’t seem a good idea for her career.

GTB says: This movie will be the third trilogy in the Democratic bomb trilogy. The 1st was Southside (about Barack’s and Michelle’s first date). The 2nd is the “On the Basis of Sex,” the upcoming movie about Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The third is going to be this Sandy Bullock movie…My God, no wonder Hollywood is tanking. I mean, who is seriously going to waste 6 hours of their lives on these movies? I betcha even die hard Democrats are not going to see these movies. They are making movies that no one is too see!
