Democrats are nothing if not predictable. Spencer Pratt is a threat to Democrat control in Los Angeles, and we can all tell because the attacks on him have begun in earnest.
Pratt’s performance at last week’s debate really shook up the entire L.A. mayoral race. Not only was he considered the hands-down winner of the night, but he has spooked the other candidates in the race. Current Mayor Karen Bass was supposed to participate in a “mayoral forum” with other candidates last night, and then dropped out. Then the whole kit and caboodle was canceled when Nithya Raman also decided not to show up. Spencer Pratt had already declined the event, citing a scheduling conflict. But without Pratt, Bass, or Raman, there wasn’t a point in having the televised forum.
Pratt’s rising popularity and poll numbers meant that Democrats had to start taking him seriously. So the attacks have begun. First up was Pod Bro Jon Favreau, who tried digging up an old tweet by Spencer Pratt from *checks calendar* 2009. Unfortunately for Favreau, he is a giant ass hypocrite who tripped over Graham Platner’s Nazi tattoo. If this were a poker game, Favreau’s desperation here would be a “tell.”
Before this moment I’d thought the Pratt thing was all fun hype stuff that wouldn’t go anywhere, but if the pod bro messaging coordinators of the DNC are dredging up 17 year old tweets to try to get a “gotcha” on him they must be legitimately nervous https://t.co/jEUPdFJF4k pic.twitter.com/qPH5NOzRWF

And then TMZ joined the pile-on. Spencer Pratt living in a hotel was suddenly the big “gotcha” of the day. You see, when he ran the ad pointing out that his house burned down and he only has a trailer parked there now, that was apparently misleading because he lives at a hotel. TMZ really thought they had something. And then Spencer Pratt called in to chew them out.
Pratt trashed the report during an interview with TMZ boss Harvey Levin afterward.
He said the report — which said he has been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air for more than a month — was nothing more than “semantics” and that he was only staying in the hotel due to the “failed leadership” of Mayor Karen Bass (D). The Pacific Palisades home Pratt shared with his wife, Heidi Montag, and their two sons was burned down during the wildfires that hit Los Angeles in early 2025.
“To be clear, that is where I live,” Pratt said about the trailer. “That’s where Karen Bass, Mayor Bass, burned down my house. That is where I will live until I have a new house. The Airstream is a temporary facility. A hotel is a temporary facility. Where my kids are in Santa Barbara is temporary housing.”
He continued, “Again, I don’t live at the Hotel Bel-Air, I don’t live in the Airstream, I don’t live in Santa Barbara. I don’t have a house! They burned it down. That is why I got into this race.”
In other words, Spencer Pratt owns property, but is homeless because HIS HOUSE BURNED DOWN. And there are other reasons that he can’t live in the Airstream, including that there was no power or water in the Airstream until just this week.
Pratt on Wednesday said one reason he isn’t sleeping in the trailer is because “psychopaths” are sending him death threats. He said that is due to Raman “calling me a fascist because I don’t want people to have their kids next to drug addicts at the park or stepping in human poop when you get your matzah (sic).”
To that point, Pratt now has his own security team. So, that didn’t work out well for TMZ. Though goodness knows, they tried. Bless their hearts.
Why doesn’t he just live in his house? Oh wait

However, a story then broke via Vanity Fair, revealing that Spencer Pratt had a fundraiser with some big names in the Hollywood circles. Hmmm, fancy that!
Oh so that's why the pod bros got their marching orders. https://t.co/bfYas2xpiI

If Hollywood throws its weight – and money – behind Spencer Pratt, then Karen Bass and the Democrats are done. It’s as simple as that. And this fundraiser is the first crack in the dam.
David Foster pounded away at the keys while his wife, Katharine McPhee Foster, swayed through their backyard like an unpolished bridesmaid at a wedding reception, belting out a timely rendition of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” rewritten for Spencer Pratt’s mayoral campaign: “better than Karen Bass… and Nithya Raman.”
… the Grammy-winning producer, whose daughters Erin and Sara Foster are behind the Netflix hit Nobody Wants This, was now helping legitimize Pratt’s candidacy for mayor of Los Angeles by hosting a fundraiser in his Brentwood Park backyard. Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer was also in attendance at the fundraiser, according to a photo reposted to Pratt’s personal instagram story. The Fosters and Grazer did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but Vanity Fair can confirm that the event took place.
Publicly backing Spencer Pratt, who has been labeled “MAGA” and “Trumpian” by his critics, still might carry the kind of reputational risk most Hollywood figures prefer to avoid. Just ask Grazer, who said “there was blowback” from Hollywood colleagues after his vote for President Donald Trump was publicized. Pratt has frequently said he hasn’t announced several of the people his administration would hire if he were elected because those people fear retaliation.
But the Fosters hosting a fundraiser for the reality-TV provocateur turned mayoral candidate suggests that stigma may be starting to erode. As Pratt’s campaign racks up viral attention and climbs in visibility, some figures in Los Angeles’s entertainment and donor circles appear increasingly comfortable treating his candidacy like a legitimate political and cultural force. Jeanie Buss, the minority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, donated the maximum $1,800 to Pratt’s campaign. Malibu’s Most Wanted, Jamie Kennedy, is a Pratt supporter, frequently cheerleading his campaign on X. Social media influencer Jonathan Cheban, of Kardashian fame, says he will move back to Los Angeles if Spencer Pratt wins mayor. “I miss the LA energy, and only Spencer could bring it back,” Cheban said.
No wonder the Democrats are hitting the panic button and ordering the oppo research attacks. Pratt’s backers may not be A-listers, but they are people with influence and money. The Spencer Pratt AI ads keep going viral, and they cost very little. The more money he can raise, the more ads he can put on air. His poll numbers have risen, but he is still trailing behind Karen Bass at the moment. Can she keep the lead? As much as I would love a primary upset, it seems at this point that no candidate will win a 50-plus percent majority during the primary on June 2nd. If these numbers hold, it will narrow down to Spencer Pratt and Karen Bass. And then the proverbial political knives will come out for Spencer Pratt. These attacks are just a forerunner of what could come, which will be more desperate and vicious. Democrats are acknowledging that Pratt is a threat. There are less than three weeke to go before the primary vote. I expect the gloves will be coming off on both sides very soon.
