After Rob Porter’s WH Resignation Over Domestic Violence Claims, Knives Are Out for John Kelly

There’s not a rational person alive who wouldn’t agree that retired four-star Marine general John Kelly has righted President Trump’s once-chaotic White House. He also did a bang-up job while Homeland Security Secretary. But now, knives are out for his scalp. Why? Because of a White House aide no one outside the Beltway has ever heard of and accusations of domestic violence by both of his previous wives:

That’s not good. It’s not good at all. And now, Kelly is the target of breathless outrage from the liberal media. THIS is CNN:

“White guy.” Sigh.

In the wake of Porter’s resignation, and his initial assertion that the Rob Porter described by his ex-wives was not the man he’s come to know (I mean, do abusers typically give themselves away to their employers?), Kelly offered this response:

“I was shocked by the new allegations released today against Rob Porter. There is no place for domestic violence in our society. I stand by my previous comments of the Rob Porter that I have come to know since becoming Chief of Staff, and believe every individual deserves the right to defend their reputation. I accepted his resignation earlier today, and will ensure a swift and orderly transition.”

So let’s unpack that statement: Kelly is denouncing violence he’s now aware of. Good. He’s offering his perception of the man he knows, who came to the job with impeccable credentials and recommendations from several sitting U.S. senators. Also good. He’s advocating for the right to due process. Yay, innocent until proven otherwise! And he’s accepted Porter’s resignation. Boom. Gone. See ya. He’s said and done all the right things here.

So why the JOHN KELLY IS SATAN! screeches?

Because John Kelly is the Left’s newest target in its continuous, 24/7, all-out assault on Donald Trump. There is literally nothing it won’t do to bring him down. Including attacking his Chief of Staff—they’ve been doing so for days now; see VG Kendall’s post here—a man who has served his country with honor for decades. A man whose own son gave his life in defense of our great nation. And why is this all happening now? Because of the revelations pouring in daily surrounding Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, his DoJ, FBI, and State Department and their systemic mishandlings of the Clinton probe, Uranium One, and the administration’s obvious attempt to influence the 2016 election. Not to mention sitting U.S. representatives embroiled in their own potential scandals. Can you say, texting with a Russian oligarch to set up a meeting in London with the now-infamous Christopher Steele?

That’d be the same Senator Mark Warner (D-VA) who’s investigating Trump for “Russian collusion.”

Squirrel! Cut to John Kelly.

Yep. Along with the aforementioned Obama Admin misbehavior, the focus on Kelly is also an obvious deflection from the imminent Inspector General’s report that will drop soon, likely swallowing-up higher-ups in all three agencies, and perhaps others. David Laufman, Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division, is just the latest to resign his position, effective immediately for, you know, “personal reasons:”

Yes, THAT FISA application. Make sure you read that whole thread. It’s packed with compelling suppositions.

The White House has admitted its mistake. But should Kelly have kept Porter on, since he, as well as the FBI, reportedly became aware of the allegations months ago? Well, that’s not for me to say. I don’t have all the facts. And neither does the Trump-hating media. But one thing is certain: this is yet another squirrel in a long line of squirrels designed to protect what was the most corrupt administration in my lifetime, an administration riddled with serious, Republic-threatening scandals this same media is willfully ignoring. And it’s a concerted effort to take down the man who’s brought much-needed discipline to Trump and his inner circle. The Left would love nothing more than a return to White House chaos, and they see Kelly as their ticket there.

  • GWB says:

the most corrupt administration in my lifetime
And that’s saying something. At least for me, since my lifetime goes back to Johnson.
Imagine if the press had been as adversarial to 0bama as it is to Republicans. There would have been blood in the Potomac with all the paper cuts. Sharks from as far away as the Great Barrier Reef would have circled in hopes of feeding on the abundant bodies in the water.
    *smh*

Now, if Kelly was keeping him on in hopes that the accusations would blow over (vs. being exposed as bogus), then he blew it and needs to go. If he was waiting for some adjudication, then he was doing right.

    • Jodi says:

The press idolized (idolizes) Obama for obvious reasons (as it does Hillary Clinton). He knew this, and he exploited it, and thus got away (so far) with repeatedly violating federals laws and shredding our constitution.

On Kelly: I completely agree. Which is why we need all the facts before we judge a man with an otherwise impeccable character and history.
