There is a definite crisis on our border. Even the New York Times fish wrap admitted there was a crisis. Meanwhile sanctuary cities have been taking care of and protecting illegal immigrants within the city borders and have enjoyed thumbing their noses at ICE and federal laws. Yet as soon as Trump floated the idea of sending illegals to sanctuary cities to alleviate the crush at the border, the immediate response was NIMBY!!

“President Trump said Friday his administration is “giving strong considerations” to a controversial plan that would release migrants into so-called sanctuary cities, even though officials said the idea was never seriously considered.”

I wonder who those anonymous officials are? But I digress. Sanctuary cities have been all about giving safe haven, no questions asked, to illegals. And in fact, giving them resources that should be going to American citizens. New York decided it could no longer fund college education for soldiers and their children, but magically found state funds, to the tune of $27 million, to help illegals get a college education.

So that means that states like Colorado (who just decided to expand the ability for illegals to get drivers licenses), New York, Washington, and California would welcome with open arms people who just crossed our borders illegally…right? WRONG. 

“Trump administration officials have proposed transporting detained immigrants to sanctuary cities at least twice in the past six months — once in November, as a migrant caravan approached the U.S. southern border, and again in February, amid a standoff with Democrats over funding for Trump’s border wall.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s district in San Francisco was among those the White House wanted to target, according to DHS officials. The administration also considered releasing detainees in other Democratic strongholds.”

First of all, the sanctuary cities ARE Democrat-led. So for the WaPo to attempt to infer that there might be some Republican sanctuary cities is disingenuous. Secondly, it’s an idea that has merit except for the fact that there aren’t enough resources to get the illegals from the border to those cities.

HOWEVER, it’s an idea that really got the Democrats in a tizzy.

Nancy Pelosi wasn’t pleased. 

“Shortly before Trump tweeted, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) blasted the proposal as “disrespectful” and “unworthy” of the presidency.

Pelosi told reporters at the House Democrats’ policy retreat in Virginia that she did not know anything about the White House’s internal deliberations, but said even raising the idea is “disrespectful of the challenges that we face as a county, as a people, to address who we are: a nation of immigrants.””

Nancy, let me explain something to you. We are certainly a nation of immigrants – LEGAL immigrants. We are also a nation of laws. Yet you are A-OK with illegal immigration until you figure out that it might impact your backyard. Then, all bets are off.

But you are totally fine with shutting down a state because you’d rather babies get aborted at the drop of the hat. Yep, tell me again what is sick and twisted?

This from a guy who has spent the last 2+ years insisting in spite of all the evidence to the contrary that Trump colluded with Russia. But sure Schifty, tell us again about power corrupting people. Have you looked in a mirror lately??

We have a problem at our border, yet the Democrats virtue signal while the system implodes around them.

Yet, when presented with an idea that may help because they are such fans of sanctuary cities? The shrieks of NOT IN MY BACKYARD!!! were deafening.

Sanctuary cities are the hot trend only as long as they are politically convenient for the Democrats and only as long as those illegal immigrants cooling their heels on our border don’t come anywhere near their pristine utopias. NIMBY indeed.
