Media Dumps The Lincoln Project Over Weaver Allegations

The Lincoln Project is no longer a media favorite. Based upon the revelations published by the New York Times, which were originally published by Ryan Girduscky in The American Conservative on January 11, the media is in full CYA mode. This from the original story.

“Over the summer, John Weaver, the co-founder of the Never-Trump Republican Lincoln Project, followed me on Twitter. It struck me as odd, given that my account was supportive of the president, but I thought little of it. Within a few hours, a young man I know over Twitter sent me a direct message asking if Weaver had contacted me privately, and told me to be on my guard.”

The rest of the report is both mind-boggling and infuriating. John Weaver, the co-founder of the Never Trump project has spent YEARS grooming young men. As is noted in the report, Karl Rove tried to bring it to everyone’s attention years ago but it was passed off was inter-party rivalry. I don’t know why Karl Rove didn’t pursue this behind the scenes and that’s a question that should be asked.

Meanwhile, Weaver’s response was this:

“To the men I made uncomfortable through my messages that I viewed as consensual mutual conversations at the time: I am truly sorry. They were inappropriate and it was because of my failings that this discomfort was brought on you,” Weaver said.

“The truth is that I’m gay,” he added. “And that I have a wife and two kids who I love. My inability to reconcile those two truths has led to this agonizing place.”

Talk about political and pr contortions! That statement is a beauty!

Here’s the other key part of this atrocious story. It wasn’t just one or two young men. Ryan knew of multiple young men who’d been approached by John Weaver whether in person or through creepy social media interactions. The New York Times picked up the story and ran with it yesterday. In fact, The NY Times only had enough space to discuss twenty one of the young men that Weaver had targeted.

“John Weaver, a longtime Republican strategist and co-founder of the prominent anti-Trump group the Lincoln Project, has for years sent unsolicited and sexually provocative messages online to young men, often while suggesting he could help them get work in politics, according to interviews with 21 men who received them.

His solicitations included sending messages to a 14-year-old, asking questions about his body while he was still in high school and then more pointed ones after he turned 18.”

Which means there are more. Likely many more.

As Axios noted, Weaver announced a leave of absence last summer, just as Ryan was tracking this story. Meanwhile, those at The Lincoln Project issued a statement that was a denial/non-denial. According to the rest of the Lincoln Project crew, Weaver spoke and that was all that was needed.

All those with the Lincoln Project have been screaming at the skies in high decibels about ORANGE MAN BAD for years now. And, the media loved it. Rick Wilson, Reed Galen, George Conway, Jennifer Horn and others along with CO-FOUNDER John Weaver, have made millions off of their hatred of President Trump.

The media loved them so much, the appearances on all the political talk shows were numerous! John Weaver even had a stint on 60 Minutes just three months ago.

The same 60 Minutes show that had Rick Wilson painting the entire Republican Party as racist and several Lincoln Project jackasses discussing whether or not they would’ve supported Bernie Sanders.

Once the story broke, this was the response

“Steve Schmidt, a co-founder of the group, told the New York Times that they had heard “chatter” last summer Weaver could be in relationships with men, but denied they knew it was inappropriate.

“There was no awareness or insinuations of any type of inappropriate behavior when we became aware of the chatter at the time,” Schmidt told the Times.”

Now, however, the media is now in full dump mode. The Lincoln Project is suddenly toxic because of the New York Times story, therefore DUMP TIME! The headlines across the media are…NOT friendly to The Lincoln Project, who saw the writing on the wall and issued this statement.

Their statement is ludicrous on every level and it’s no wonder the media is in full dump mode. The Lincoln Project was started several YEARS ago, back when we didn’t have a Covid lung flu rot mandating social distancing. So their idiotic physical distance line is beyond absurd.

Which is also sub-speak for ‘Dear Democrats, please don’t ditch us, we are working really hard for you and love the money you are sending us!’

They were loved as long as they engaged in all the doxxing of Republicans that the media hates.

But now, it seems that Weaver targeting numerous young men is too toxic for the media. If the media wasn’t concerned, then there wouldn’t have been a raft of negative stories about The Lincoln Project published since yesterday afternoon.

I guess the grift was good while it lasted.

I thought Dems as a whole loved gay people and that any criticism of them was obviously “homophobia.”

Fascinating how things change so quickly.

John Weaver is following in the Kevin Spacey playbook who was outed as a sexual predator of young men and used the defense “I was confused because I did not realize I was a gay man” thereby bringing up sexual stereotypes that gay men go hunting for young conquests. As for The Lincoln Project I saw the incredibly dumb Nicolle Wallace say (on MSNBC or CNN – not much difference) that she would vote for Bernie Sanders over Trump.
