New York Mayor, Zohran Mamdani so desperately wants to be seen as the cool guy who has come into the city with his rap songs, scavenger hunts, and edgy, artsy-fartsy campaign designs crafted by his America-hating wife.
Granted, it’s been 53 years since the Knicks won a championship. My son and his best friend, (my adopted son) were stoked. New Yorkers are feeling a sense of celebration and pride right now. This win “belongs to the people of New York City”, says Mamdani.
Yeah, well so does their property you want to tax the hell out of, Zohran.
Some crazies are actually attributing Mamdani’s election to the Knicks’ win.

Oh yea the great savior— PATRICK FARRELL (@THEEGUY1) June 14, 2026
The “great savior” wants to hook up New Yorkers following Thursday’s ticker tape parade. The prize? A special admission to the Knicks’ Championship Ceremony for 600 people:
The Knicks belong to New York City. And this championship belongs to the people who waited 53 years for it.
That’s why we’re giving away 600 free tickets to Thursday’s Championship Ceremony at City Hall following the ticker-tape parade.”-Zohran Mamdani

Wait just a hot minute. Shouldn’t this be a free-for-all event? After all, the Knicks belong to New York City. Therefore, every resident has some sort of ownership of the team here. The Knicks are for everyone. One cannot just exclude all but 600 New Yorkers here, can he? Hell, in a sea of 8 million people, it could happen. All New Yorkers have to do is enter their names in the drawing via a link provided by the “prince” from Uganda.
New Yorkers are complaining about the odds, the day, the time of day and the parade route. They also raise some very valid points:
have you informed the knicks players that you don’t think they are paying their fair share in taxes yet

The players. The coaches. The owners. All should be asked to melt down the gold championship rings to give to the less fortunate. Yeah. That’ll go over like a fart in church.
And while Mamdani is reveling in the vibes and the Knicks’ win as if it were his own to claim, New Yorkers are also rightfully concerned about safety issues before, during and after the events scheduled to take place on Thursday. All of this was post Championship win a few nights back:
Across the city, riot police were deployed to quell the madness and videos showed the party turning ugly in Times Square as fans literally ripped apart a school bus while the driver begged them to stop.
At around 2am, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the left foot at 42nd St and Broadway, according to details from the NYPD. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in a stable condition.
In Brooklyn, meanwhile, a 44-year-old man was fatally shot and killed near Prospect Park at 11:40pm – just minutes after the Knicks had won – but it is unclear if that was related to the Knicks’ celebrations.
In Midtown Manhattan, meanwhile, videos showed cops fighting with revelers as thousands of the Big Apple’s raucous citizens invaded the streets to celebrate the Knicks’ first NBA Championship in 53 years.”-The Daily Mail
Life is good in NYC? Um ok… have you looked out your window tonight? 🤡

The vast majority of New Yorkers celebrated appropriately. There were some who did not.”-Zohran Mamdani
63 arrests, 4 stabbings, 1 shooting…600 “free” tickets. But violence “will not be tolerated” and all must “respect” the men and women of NYPD for keeping people safe.
Zohran Mamdani was very busy on X last night. After he made the announcement to give away 600 tickets to the Knicks Celebration, he added insult onto injury and quickly jumped in to reflect on Islamic New Year.
As Muslims in New York City and around the world mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, Muharram calls us to reflect on the values of justice, compassion, and moral courage that guide us in our lives and our communities.
As we welcome this new year, may it renew our commitment to one another and to the work of building a city where every New Yorker can live with dignity and opportunity.”-Zohran Mamdani
Look downtown. What’s missing? Some of us haven’t forgotten.

He’s hoping some New Yorkers will. He’s riding the Knicks’ vibes in the hopes of covering up the fact that years ago, some Muslims “did something” and took away some Americans’ abilities to “live with dignity and opportunity”. There were no values, judgement, compassion and moral courage exercised by those extremist dirtbags who flew our planes into buildings. Twenty four years ago, I never would have thought I’d see the day where the reverence of what happened that September morning became overshadowed by stupid scavenger hunts, Knicks tickets and Muslim Mayors using the official City Hall account to talk about Islamic holidays but, here we are.
