Chalk this endorsement up with the likes of Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Hillary Clinton is endorsing Joe Biden because he’s the only Democrat still on the ballot.

Yes, Hillary is absolutely excited to be endorsing Biden… just stop hugging her, Joe. STOP IT.

The video is from 2016, but there is no way on this earth that Hillary is happy about this turn of events. But the bottom line is that Joe Biden needs her support, especially with Tara Reade neither giving up or going away, no matter how the press is trying to actively avoid her. In fact, Reade is now demanding that Biden release his Senate records.

Reade called on the former vice president to release documents pertaining to his time in the Senate, during which period she alleges that Biden kissed her, touched her and penetrated her with his fingers without her consent, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation.”

“Joe Biden, I want you to release all the personnel records from 1973 to 2009 and be transparent about your office practices,” Reade told the DCNF. “I would like to hold you accountable for what happened to me, to how your staff protected you and enabled you, bullied me multiple times into silence.”

“You ended my career,” she told Biden. “You ended my job after you assaulted me. You claim to be the champion of women’s rights, but your public persona does not match your personal actions.”

Those Senate records are currently being held at the University of Delaware, which says they won’t release them until two years after Biden leaves public office. Where is that esteemed champion of women who have been silenced, Elizabeth Warren, who once stood on a debate stage and demanded that Mike Bloomberg release his former female employees from their non-disclosure agreements? Surely she would stand up for Tara Reade in this moment!

In fact, all those who have endorsed Biden up to this point have stayed absolutely silent on Reade’s allegations (a stunning move of epic hypocrisy, considering how they savaged Justice Brett Kavanaugh on less substance). So what better way to avoid discussing allegations of sexual assault than by interviewing Hillary Clinton in a virtual town hall about women! The optics are just incredible.

Does Hillary really want to endorse Biden? Nope, but she knows that she has no choice. She loathes Donald Trump far more than she dislikes Joe Biden, and even though she would give an arm and a leg to be running for president again, she has to know that her time is past. Biden has vowed to pick a woman for vice president, but Hillary is in no position to be offered that job – and she wouldn’t want it, even if Biden’s health is suspect without her, um, help. And Biden needs to choose someone who isn’t over 60 years old.

Which makes this moment from the beginning of the town hall today, where neither Grandpa or Grandma realizes that the live feed has begun, so absolutely perfect.

You can just feel the energy oozing from this conversation. It’s impossible to contain! Everyone missed Hillary’s cackle! It’s just the shot in the arm the Biden campaign needed, right?

A word of warning to Team Biden – the more you ignore Tara Reade, the more it looks like you are hiding not only the evidence, but your candidate in his basement. Have fun living in the world with the rules that your side created.
