DeSantis Calls Out The “Brandon” Administration

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida called the Biden administration “the Brandon administration” today, and it pretty much sums everything up.

For those who don’t know, let’s quickly go over how “Let’s Go Brandon” was born. The chant “f**k Joe Biden” had become prevalent at college football games this fall, but its appearance during a post-race interview with NASCAR driver Brandon Brown caused the reporter to… actively misinterpret what was being said.

And thus was a dual purpose chant born. The beauty of “Let’s Go Brandon” isn’t just that it’s less vulgar than “f**k Joe Biden” (and therefore unlikely to trip censors even as it causes the left to shriek and cry), it’s that it is also a giant middle finger to the media. They actively covered for Biden all the way through the 2020 election cycle, and now they are stuck perpetually covering for this obviously increasingly senile and inept old man and his equally disastrous administration. The fact that a reporter inadvertently created one of the funniest slogans ever coined is just the icing on this particular cake.

And like any good example of the Streisand Effect, the more you point out a thing, the more you’re going to get of that thing. Which is how “Let’s Go Brandon” is now on t-shirts, face masks, and actively being used by politicians. The sentiment behind it has unified so many, because we’re all currently living in the suck that is the Biden-Harris administration.

So we come to today, when Governor DeSantis decided to join in the fun.

And not only did the chant of “Let’s Go Brandon!” sound forth loud and proud, DeSantis took the time to inform everyone present WHY it has become so popular.

DeSantis said what the crowd at the NASCAR event was saying was “fairly obvious,” and that crowds had said “way worse about Trump” during his presidency.”

“So they’re chanting this, and you have a reporter from NBC who knows that’s what they’re saying and she’s trying to cover for Biden and she says ‘yeah they’re chanting let’s go Brandon,’ and that was a lie,” DeSantis said. “So this chant has taken on a life of its own because it exposes the dishonesty of these corporate reporters and what they do every day. They try to lie. So now you see it.”

The governor said after Virginia’s gubernatorial election, that people are “willing to fight back.” He said Floridians know he’s willing to fight back, and that the state is fighting.”

“What we need now more than ever, with all of the stuff that’s going on, is we need people to stand for the right things,” DeSantis said. “But they need to stand up and they need to display courage, and backbone and not back down in the face of all of the things that we have to deal with.”

There’s a reason why the left is afraid of DeSantis, and his ability to connect with the mood of the people is one of those reasons. Just listen to another part of his remarks today.

Ron DeSantis understands the mood of his constituents. The politicians that use the phrase “Let’s Go Brandon” are proving that they also understand that the concerns of voters. Voters are not worried about “climate change” – they are wrapped up in the real-world impacts of rising inflation, higher gas prices, supply chain breakdowns, what their kids are being taught in public schools, and ongoing frustration with COVID mitigation policies. “Let’s Go Brandon” covers all of that, plus is a slap in the face to the media for covering for Old Grandpa Joe. And the more the left cries about it, the more it’s going to be used.

And now, thanks to Governor DeSantis, the Biden-Harris administration has been renamed the “Brandon” administration. After last night, it seems that voters are ready to change the chant from “Let’s Go Brandon!” to “Goodbye Brandon!” But first, we have to get through the 2022 midterms, and it’s time to make “Brandon” a lame duck in his first term.

I gotta say, I’ll vote for Trump if he’s the candidate, but I’d be a lot more optimistic for the administration if it were DeSantis.

I want to vote for him in 2024 SOOOOOO MUCH. And I don’t live in Florida…

    DeSantis/Tim Scott 2024!

Every day I thank God that even if I have to live in Joe Rutabaga’s America I can still live in Ron DeSantis’ Florida. And for his press secretary, the ever-feisty Christina Pushaw.

    DeSantis/Pompeo ’24?
    DeSantis/Scott ’24?
    DeSantis/Cotton ’24?
    DeSantis/Hawley ’24?

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves either. Around 2015 I thought the same of Scott Walker before he crashed and burned. Let’s hope Ron can negotiate through the minefield to the White House.

And all our prayers for his wife Casey in her battle with breast cancer.

    Going to be honest:

I like DeSantis because his approach to things is “What will make liberals upset?” followed by doing just that. His policies work, Chinese Lung AIDS cases are dropping and he is unapologetic about his state’s successes.

But personally, I would rather he stay as governor. First and most importantly, there is the matter of his wife. It would be easier for him to care for her without the demands of a White House run. Especially since she’s going to be a target from the enemedia.

Secondly, we need governors like him in more states. Ones that don’t cower before the feds and instead remind them about the 10th Amendment. We could undo a lot of the damage being done in this country if the states started growing a spine.
