California Gets Climate Leader Title And Help From White House

Remember when the wildfires burned in California and all the of celebrities with big houses in the hills freaked out? All Donald Trump’s fault, of course. Well, thanks to President Biden and The White House, California is the Climate Leader once again.

According to this, the Biden administration is moving to restore that state’s legal authority to set auto emissions limits that are tighter than federal standards, according to two people “who were not authorized to speak on the record”.

Federal regulators are looking to California for inspiration as they draft new national rules designed to meet President Biden’s pledge that half of all new cars sold in the United States by 2030 will be electric vehicles. Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, has signed an executive order to phase out the sale of new gasoline-powered cars in California by 2035 and is proposing to spend $37 billion next year to cut greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, buildings and the energy sector.”-Coral Davenport, The New York Times

California Governor, Gavin Newsom, claims that it’s about time. After all, he spent years upon years arguing with the angry Orange Man in the White House and blaming Trump for forest fires in his state.

Of course, the old senile idiot who has taken up residence in D.C. now would be all for spending $37 million to cut greenhouse gas emissions, right? Mr. Newsom claims to have had “productive, personal” conversations with Joe Biden about this very thing. Wait, New York Times…did you mean to say that? A productive conversation with Joe Biden? You guys can’t be serious now, can you? But, yet, they are. And it’s in print.

Mr. Biden is the first president to elevate the issue of environmental justice as a core priority, vowing to redress the disproportionate impact of pollution on communities of color.”--Coral Davenport, The New York Times

Sure. Let’s talk disproportionate impact here, shall we? Let’s talk supply chain and jobs in “communities of color” for a moment. Newsom already tried to put owner-operators out of business a few years back. With new standards in place, it could cost up to $5,000 to update a truck to meet these new standards.

They will have to personally invest and they already have small margins. If the federal standards are aligned with the California standards, that’s going to put many small business truckers in a tough spot to keep up.”-Jay Grimes, director of federal affairs for the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association

So much for the California resident-a middle-class black guy-who is supporting his family trying to get his truck up to standards so he could make deliveries and pay next month’s mortgage and utility bill.

Exactly. But all of the celebutards who went mask-free in the open air in Inglewood this past Sunday want more clean air and less emissions on the freeway in the form of “dirty old trucks”. How unsightly and ghastly to see them littering up the “10”.

And riddle me this, what exactly is this going to do for our already suffering supply chain?

You think?

The boom in online shopping during the Covid pandemic has significantly worsened the problem. There’s an increase in trucking and trucking pollution and that’s what’s motivating this.”-Craig Segall, California Air Resources Board

And who stoked the flames on the Covid pandemic? Newsom. Biden. The Democrats in general. Which is why it’s now time for the COVID pandemic to be over, right? But the damage is already done and the state of California has to mitigate this somehow by imposing more stringent rules on the trucking industry, so they say. After all, emissions from the trucking industry are putting many of the marginalized at risk.

Having to breathe this polluted air from the tailpipes of trucks is killing these communities. Please. Like Gavin Newsom or The Biden Administration actually cares? Kids in elementary schools in Compton have been breathing in that pollution and muzzled in masks for six to seven hours a day at school. And when these kids have not been in school because of draconian lockdowns, some of these parents had to quit their jobs to stay home with them. Add onto this those with little parental direction being left to their own devices with no guidance for days on end only to arrive back to school after almost a whole year. These kids returning to schools are behind academically, they are suffering from depression and anxiety and just a sheer lack of being able to cope and communicate after a year of being outside the classroom. All of this in marginalized neighborhoods while Gavin Newsom’s kids did not skip a beat at their prep schools. But truck exhaust is what is killing these communities? Spare me.

And while you’re at it, Biden and Newsom, go ahead and deny water to the farmers as well in the name of Climate Change, too. No water means no produce to ship, means no trucking across the state, means no wages for truckers and families, which means nothing on store shelves, which means nothing left to feed the families of the “marginalized, over-polluted-from-truck-exhaust-communities” these idiots claim to care so much about. But then again, $5,000 and up to fix a truck to meet new standards adds up. Get enough small owner-operators doing this and lawmakers may just get another trip to Maui. They’ll make sure to plan it during the hottest days of a California summer. You know, when the forests are likely to burn because of Climate Change, of course.

But The New York Times says California is the leader in Climate initiatives. More like leaders of the most hot, polluted air coming from the mouths of the incompetent lawmakers and rich people.
