AOC has gotten over COVID and is on the warpath and angry, y’all. On a recent campaign stop in Texas, she said turning The Lone Star State blue is “inevitable“. From the event in San Antonio:
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a stop in Texas to endorse the campaigns of Jessica Cisneros and Greg Casar. I mean, she began her organizing career in Texas!
“Here’s what’s exciting about Jessica’s race and Greg’s race…is that if we flip Texas, we flip the country.Texas turning blue is inevitable. The only question is when. We are going to fight for a living wage, we are going to make sure we unionize the hell out of this state…and we’re going to make sure that not one dime is made exploitatively across any worker, especially the undocumented.”-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
What were some of the key points brought up by two women (Cisneros and AOC) donned in ugly pantsuits? I swear these blue women pick out the most hideous ensembles I have ever seen. I suppose we should be careful to criticize Notorious AOC and her political predictions or her ugly pantsuit, however. She may think it’s because we all must want to date her or sleep with her or something but I digress. They are fighting to flip Texas to blue on the platform of Medicare for all, unions and reproductive freedom (translation: abortion).
So, here she is. AOC predicting that Texas will go blue. AOC also predicted that the world was going to end in 12 years, remember that? We’re about three years into this prediction so, if Texas does go blue, we may be right on track with her premonition.
But in the times we live in, I am cautious to never say never. I mean, look at the hot mess we are in now with our so-called “leader” of the (still) free nation? But, if AOC did her homework, perhaps she should be cautious about making such statements on inevitability. Clearly, we know she did not do her economics homework back in the day because if she did math, she would realize that the Green New Deal was/is not an economically sound plan for America. On a side note let’s take a wild guess here. Did AOC fly down to Texas on a commercial aircraft this time? Did she buy that $7-dollar croissant?
What’s more glaring about AOC’s prediction, or should we say, her wishful thinking, is the voting trends of border towns such as McAllen, Texas in 2021:
The party was particularly buoyed by its performance in McAllen, a border city of 143,000 that is 85 percent Hispanic, where Javier Villalobos, a former chairman of the local Republican Party, defeated a candidate backed by local Democrats by 206 votes out of 9,282 cast.”-Reid J. AOC had her theories in the past on remedying border surge as well. More blue policies. Inevitable for border towns to also go blue, right? According to this, Joe Biden won Hidalgo County, which includes McAllen, by 17 percentage points. Four years earlier, Hillary Clinton carried the county by 40 points. I would suggest that this would be an inevitable trend that may be creeping into the red as opposed to the blue oblivion but hey, I’m not the economics major nor a career organizer, nor in Congress for my stellar cerebral function.
She asked 10 of her friends how they were voting 8 of them said they are going to vote democrat, therefore her own polling shows 80% of people are going to vote democrat

If identity politics come into play, perhaps Texas cities would go “purple”. But at the border towns and in rural areas, there is a reason why Republicans won and why even a fair amount of Hispanics voted red and may continue to do so:
Republicans, by contrast, recognized that Hispanic South Texans share many of the same values as non-Hispanic white voters elsewhere in Texas and swept in with a pitch about defending gun rights, promoting the oil and gas industry, restricting abortion, and supporting law enforcement.”-Jack Herrera, Texas Monthly
Let’s also add into the mix the strong Catholic faith of many Hispanic communities-along the border and elsewhere in the state of Texas. They know that “reproductive freedom” translates to “limitless abortion for all”. They are Conservative by nature in this regard and, I am willing to bet, do not enjoy their intelligence being insulted by blue Texas throwing around this euphemism.
If anything, AOC underestimates Texans. And, she really underestimates the Hispanic population of which she claims to be a champion.

George V says: The wild card in the assessment of incipient blue-ness of Texas is the influx of blue staters from Commiefornia and other nearly failed states looking for a more civilized living experience. We know from the history of Oregon and Vermont, solid conservative states until populated by blue state refugees, that Democrats will vote Democrat, not realizing that the policies of their party are what cause the problems from which they flee.

Hoooo boy, that is one statement just full of magical words. Just for one, do you know who the only really exploited workers are in the US? Illegal aliens. Because they’re the ones who don’t have recourse to the law (and dang well should not). (And, btw, they aren’t just Mexican and Central and South American; there’s a whole lot of Asians in America illegally and exploited because of it.)
But sure, unionize them! That will guarantee they aren’t exploited by the rich business owners – because they’ll be too busy being exploited by the rich union bosses and their rich politicians!

But I will state one important fact about the “inevitability” of ‘going blue’: Absolutely, if you do not do anything and just assume Texas will remain ‘red’, because “Texas!”, I guarantee it will go blue.
You see, remaining a free constitutional republic requires work. It requires not just the duties of a citizen that you normally think of – voting, supporting law and order, demanding your rights – but evangelizing America. It requires teaching your neighbors about why America became so great (and abolishing the idiotic notions they’ve taken up from tv and the internet!) and about the morals and humility required to remain free. If you and I don’t do that work, then the people will slide down into slough and despond and will revert to desiring prosperity and comfort above the “animating contest of freedom.” They will happily sit on their fat behinds and scarf cheetos and play on their XBoxes as the night settles in around them, delaying the weight of the consequences of their choices with their wealth – until the last bit of it runs out from between their pudgy, orange fingers.
