The country formerly known as Great Britain looks as if it is a slow-motion crawl to become an English-speaking version of the Soviet Union.
As we reported earlier this week, little Alfie Evans, not quite two years old, was ordered to die by the state because the NHS decreed that his life had no value, and a judge agreed to let it happen.
Judge intervened after Diamond said current legal situation is “contrary to civilised norms”. Judge says he doesn’t want court to be used “as a platform for platitudes and soundbites but for proper submissions” on behalf of Alfie’s family.

A slow-motion death.
Paul Diamond, for Alfie’s parents, told the judge the boy could live for as long as 10 days without life-support ventilation

Never mind what the parents want. All your children are belong to us.
There has also been criticism from Alder Hey and the judge of some people around Alfie’s parents, said to be providing them false hope. “It’s profoundly depressing to say the least,” said the judge. He called one a “fanatical and deluded young man”.

Never mind what anyone else might be able to do for him. Go die, already.
New: Alfie Evans family has lost its legal challenge to fly him to Italy for treatment in what judge calls the “final chapter in the case of this extraordinary little boy”

The problem? Alfie Evans is still living, and every breath he takes, every hour he lives, is a slap in the face of the NHS and the UK socialist state. His parents, believing that where there is life, there is hope, are not giving up.
Every day Alfie shows that he still possesses the will to live, he embarasses the state. THE STATE IS NOT AMUSED.
We've issued the following statement following reports of social media posts being made in relation to Alder Hey…

wow, they really do arrest people for free speech in UK….scary place to live. They can force you to watch your children die and then can monitor and arrest you for speaking out about it. #Socialism

I repeat my point from the other day: The UK's approach toward speech is beyond embarrassing. Thank God we live in a country that values and protects free speech (for now). https://t.co/HgXSFNKIns

State-enforced murder of a disabled baby isn’t the problem here, it’s the uppity citizens daring to question the all-powerful all-knowing government.

When your government is so screwed up and overbearing you have the police monitoring people who speak up for the life of the little boy that you condemned to death. https://t.co/NKTwrOrrdS

Also, pray for Alfie Evans, who is a prisoner under a death sentence, and his parents. No one should have to go through the state-sanctioned hell that they are.
Several thoughts….
1. This is the government run healthcare that Hillary, Bernie, and far too many others think we should have.
2. For the UK it seems that death panels are a feature, not a bug.
3. It’s highly disturbing to see variations on 1984 and Atlas Shrugged play out in the real world.
I cannot fathom what those parents are going through. And for the judge and doctors – I really have to question if they have any humanity left.
It is quite possible that I will take some heat/ hate for this.
When you agree to submit your life to the Socialist state, you also allow them to govern your life and its outcome. That is why I fight against the Socialist state. When other people pay yor bills for you, they control you. They control your choices and your options.
That is why, with their limited funds, they are forced to make horrible choices about the extension of the life of a dying child , who is without hope of recovery. They have patients who can and will recover with the use of these limited resources.
Don’t get me wrong. My heart breaks for this family. I am saddened and agrieved by their story. But the state to whom they have submitted simply cannot afford to continue his care at the expense of others.
That the state is callous and cruel in their pronouncements of Alfies’ imminent demiise is unforgiveable. But that is the ultimate result of turning over responsibility over ones self and ones family over to the state.
This. Is why I fought Hillary care and Obamacare so strongly. If it because of financial constraints or an individuals political beliefs, if the state has control over your health care options, they will exercise that control.
Free markets allow one to choose their own options.
It’s amazing to me how hard the British courts are fighting to save face. Let the child & his parents go to Italy. It will not cost the British government one penny more.
Another thought — what would the British government do if a dog was treated like this? I bet there would be a public hue & cry!
Sad.
