The Democrat Left hatred of THOSE conservative SCOTUS justices was on full display this week. The Senate hearing was supposedly about ethics. Except it really wasn’t. It was about targeting those Supreme Court justices who don’t toe the chosen Democrat line.

Keep in mind, Democrats have never liked anyone in the judiciary who is conservative and/or dares to follow *gasp! the Constitution! Their animosity to the same became readily apparent during the Bork hearings, and has gotten worse from there. 

None more apparent during the Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett hearings. The animosity on display, the lies put forth, the very personal attacks by Democrats and the media showed the Democrats true colors, and boy howdy are they ugly. 

But now, ever since some cretin at SCOTUS leaked the Dobbs draft opinion, the Democrats have sharpened their knives in an entirely different way. It’s about ETHICS you see. 

How DARE Justice Clarence Thomas have friends??!! And, he’s a conservative billionaire. Oh. The. Horror.  ProPublic ran with a piece on Justice Thomas that has gotten massive pushback, as well it should. Then Politico tried to run a piece on Justice Gorsuch for failing to disclose a real estate deal. The only thing Politico proved is that they have ZERO understanding of how LLC’s operate. 

Well, the Democrats have taken their new shiny toy and are running with it.

Because SCOTUS is making decisions that THEY don’t like and don’t want, the legitimacy of the Court and specifically that of those pesky conservative justices must be called into question. 

Then, the Democrats decided to try and coerce Chief Justice Roberts to testify before Congress about these so-called ethical issues. This happened after SCOTUS sent their funding request to Congress in March. 

The court’s budget request asks for $5,897,000 for the “expansion of protective activities” and a separate increase of $585,000 for new IT security positions in “cybersecurity, software development, and network engineering.”

“This request would expand security activities conducted by Supreme Court Police to protect the Justices,” the protective activities request says, before specifically citing the presence of threats to the justices.

“On-going threat assessments show evolving risks that require continuous protection,” the request continues. “Additional funding would provide for contract positions, eventually transitioning to full-time employees, that will augment capabilities of the Supreme Court police force and allow it to accomplish its protective mission.”

There have been cretins outside conservative SCOTUS justices home for a year now. The ONLY one arrested was the one who threatened to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh. None of the others have been arrested. Justice Alito had to give a speech via Zoom to the students at George Mason University BECAUSE of the threats and protests, and yes, because of the leaker, all the conservative justices were definitely targets of assassination. But again, federal marshals have had their hands tied. 

A federal law called Section 1507 makes it a crime to picket or parade “in or near” a federal judge’s residence “with the intent of influencing” him “in the discharge of his duty.” During a hearing last month, Attorney General Merrick Garland told Sen. Mike Lee (R., Utah) that the marshals have “full authority to arrest” violators of Section 1507. But according to training slides obtained by Sen. Katie Britt (R., Ala.), deputies on the justices’ residential details are told to enforce the law only as “a last resort to prevent physical harm to the Justices and/or their families.”

Which brings us to the present. Democrats are demanding that SCOTUS rule on cases THEIR way. Dobbs and several other rulings lately have had them frothing at the mouth because the decisions went against their chosen narratives and political maneuvers. Now, a case, Loper, is pending before the court that could totally spike the federal bureaucratic overreach that has been on-going. It would essentially overturn Chevron, which would hamstring bureaucrats AND the Democrats from making rules by fiat instead of following the Constitution. 

Which is why the attacks against the conservative justices and the whining from the left about ETHICS has intensified. The Democrats, however, are also putting lives at risk. They are using the ethics gambit as a bludgeon. NONE of the Justices are playing that game per the unanimous letter they sent to Dick Durbin. 

The Supreme Court Justices sent a unanimous 9-0 letter addressed to the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday which slammed democratic legislators over their ethics complaints about Justice Clarence Thomas.

In a rare move from the High Court, the joint-statement was released following the Senate Judiciary Committee’s requests to propose new legislation on ethics which would allow congress to have independent oversight, instead of a general code of conduct for Justices on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Furthermore, Justice Sotomayor has an ethics problem of her own by the Democrat definition.

Sonia Sotomayor received over $3 million for her books from Penguin Random House publishing and then didn't recuse herself from a case in which they were involved before SCOTUS where the company stood to lose money.

Oh, but that is different because REASONS. 

So, what are the Democrats doing now? Threatening to take away the funding for security unless the justices toe the line, or kick Justice Clarence Thomas to the curb, or both.

Again, this isn’t about ethics. This is about subverting the Constitution and demanding that the Supreme Court only rule the Democrat way.
