White House Tries Afghanistan Debacle Rewrite

I can’t say I’m surprised, but yes, the Biden White House is working hard on rewriting last year’s Afghanistan debacle.

The Biden administration is holding out the CIA operation that killed al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahri as a monumental strike against the global terror network responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks of 2001. But there’s a downside, too.

The drone strike also is putting into stark relief the mounting evidence that after 20 years of America’s military presence — and then sudden departure — Afghanistan has once again become an active staging ground for Islamic terror groups looking to attack the West.

There’s a “downside??” You. Don’t. Say.

As we wrote extensively this time last year, and strived mightily to not destroy computers and TV’s in our rage and hurt over the whole mess, the Afghanistan drawdown was a horrendous debacle that left 13 American soldiers dead and countless people left behind.

Now, as a major terrorist leader dead (for which I’m mightily glad of), the Biden White House with the complicit media is working hard to do a rewrite.

We didn’t KNOW that the Taliban would let terrorists into the country!

We didn’t KNOW that Afghanistan would once again become a terrorist haven!

ARE YOU FREAKING BLIND??! Why yes, all of the dumbasses in the Administration and the media are willfully blind and stupid.

Take a gander at John Kirby and his babbling rewrite of history.

Guess what Sparky? Biden absolutely DID say that Al Quaeda was “GONE” from Afghanistan. We knew that they weren’t and even CNN ‘fact checked’ Biden.

Defending the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, President Joe Biden said at the White House on Friday: “Look, let’s put this thing in perspective. What interest do we have in Afghanistan at this point, with al Qaeda gone? We went to Afghanistan for the express purpose of getting rid of al Qaeda in Afghanistan as well as — as well as — getting Osama bin Laden. And we did.”

Facts First: Biden’s claim that al Qaeda is “gone” from Afghanistan is false — as his own administration acknowledged soon afterward. Following Biden’s remarks, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby told reporters, “We know that al Qaeda is a presence, as well as ISIS, in Afghanistan, and we’ve talked about that for quite some time.”

Biden has correctly said in previous prepared remarks, including a speech on Monday, that al Qaeda has been “degraded” in Afghanistan; the terror group is widely viewed as having been substantially weakened by the 20-year US-led war. But Biden clearly went too far on Friday when he said — while offering impromptu answers to reporters’ questions — that the group does not exist in Afghanistan at all.

Suddenly, in the midst of everything going on, including Nancy’s ‘in-your-face China’ visit to Taiwan, we aren’t supposed to be concerned that the Taliban has been sheltering terrorists?

But the attack, which revealed to the public the presence of veteran militant Ayman al-Zawahiri in the heart of Taliban-controlled Kabul, injected a disturbing new element into the administration’s fraught dealings with Afghanistan in the post-American era.

Biden administration officials condemned Taliban leaders for providing a haven for the Egyptian extremist, who helped build al-Qaeda into a global terrorist network. Several of the officials said his installation in a villa a stone’s throw from Afghan government buildings flouted a 2020 U.S.-Taliban deal that provided the basis for the withdrawal of U.S. forces after two decades.

Fraught. Now there’s a word to use! Again, Biden unequivocally stated that Al Qaeda was “GONE” from Afghanistan last year.

Except that Al Qaeda and many other terrorists weren’t gone and I’d be willing to bet that many scurried to Afghanistan as soon as they could. Why? Because Biden’s arbitrary removal of U.S. troops with the complicit Department of Defense and State Department left MILLIONS of dollars of weapons, ammunition, and equipment behind. All of which were amazing freebies for terrorists of all stripes.

Remember though, Biden with the media carrying water, has continually assured us that Afghanistan really isn’t and never will be a terrorist haven.

The Biden Administration and media can do all the rewrites they want, but they still can’t get out of their own way.

Keep this in mind as the Biden Administration scrambles to rewrite the debacle that was the Afghanistan withdrawal last year…

There you go. The Biden Administration, with the media’s help, can scramble as madly as they can, but the fact is, the Afghanistan withdrawal DID embolden Al Quaeda and terrorists around the world. All the rewrites, revisions, and blaming others won’t ever change that fact.
