One would have thought this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) would have looked different this year but it’s the same ol’, same ol’ with these “journalists”.

They are still in denial, still lying, still gaslighting and still in their elitist bubbles. The “Nerd Prom” last night was muted. No comedian. Fewer Hollywood types. And, no President Trump but we’re not surprised by his absence. After all, Trump has made it crystal how he feels about the bottom feeders of the media.

Still, the show must go on at Nerd Prom. Eugene Daniels, who leads the WHCA, noted that presidents from both sides of the political spectrum are invited every year to the event. But Trump snubbed them.

For decades, presidents on both sides of the political spectrum get gussied up and join us. want to be clear about something: We don’t invite presidents of the United States to this because it’s for them. We don’t invite them because we want to cozy up to them or curry favor. We don’t only extend invites to the presidents who say they love journalists or who say they are defenders of the First Amendment and a free press.

We invite them to remind them that they should be. We invite them to demonstrate that those of us who have chosen the public service of journalism aren’t doing it because we love flights on Air Force One or walking into the Oval Office. It’s to remind them why a strong Fourth Estate is essential for democracy.” -Eugene Daniels, WHCA

Trump was traveling back and forth for the Pope’s funeral but, apparently, these “public servants” are now more important than the Pope. The question remains, even if Trump were not traveling for the Pope’s funeral, would he want to be in the company of this bunch?

So, give it a rest, Eugene. A strong Fourth Estate? These people really believe their own bullshit. And, most of you all are not “public servants” on those salaries of yours. Rachel Maddow? I’m looking at you and your $30-million-a-year contract to spew said bullshit. Oh, she took a pay-cut to save America, the bold journalist, public servant (COUGH) that she is. Excuse me, then. $25 million.

It’s a tough job as a “public servant” but someone’s gotta do it. Some even get awards on this self-congratulatory evening of rubbing elbows, like Alex Thompson if Axios, who reported on Joe Biden’s cognitive decline four years too late.

Alex Thompson got an award for “breaking news” that the rest of us already knew for years and the majority of the “journalists” in that room last night ignored. Thompson pointed this out.

"Journalists" are patting yourselves on the back for being years late to a story that everybody else already knew.

Stewards of the public trust? We’re sorry. That trust has been eroded beyond repair. You’ve lost our trust when you told us we all were going to die of a virus in 2020. You’ve lost our trust when you all willingly sided with the powers-that-were that perpetuated this lie and ushered in the collapse of small businesses Americans worked their lives to build and, let’s not forget, our public education system, which was already in a sorry state at that point in time. You’ve lost our trust when you told Americans that it was okay to go out and protest but not go out and support someone’s business because “we might kill Grandma”. And, speaking of Grandma, you’ve lost our trust when your voices (to include the $25-million-dollar-golden-throat of MSNBC, Rachel Maddow), piped into our elderly parents’ homes daily during lockdown, instilled fear and incited (sometimes irreparable) political division. You’ve lost our trust when you buried the criminal activities of one presidential hopeful in 2016 to push a one-sided Russia narrative. You’ve lost our trust when you pushed aside not only Joe Biden’s cognitive decline, but his side-hustles with his son and the laptop full of incriminating evidence of these dealings-hurling softball questions at him instead. You’ve lost our trust when you could not distinguish gender between male and female and when you advocated for the mutilation of children in the name of “human rights”. You’ve lost our trust when you called illegal criminals “undocumented” or “migrants” instead of what they actually are: illegal criminals.

Appointing Daniels to the head of the WHCA in mid-2024 was an admission by the press that they intend to learn no lessons whatsoever from their downfall. After the disaster that was Kelly O’Donnell, there could have been a change in direction that started the press on a path back to credibility. Instead, they decided an MSNBC talking head would be the perfect choice to lead them into the future, and lead them he has. Directly into a brick wall of self-entitled nonsense that will do nothing but continue to diminish their standing.”-Bonchie, RedState

Last night’s WHCA soiree proved one thing to We, The People: the tone-deaf, self-congratulatory warriors of the newsroom have learned absolutely nothing. Change my mind.
