U.S. Mayors Dig In Their Heels After Trump Abandons #ParisAgreement [VIDEO]

The State of Fear that is emanating from the climate change alarmists right now is one for the books. I don’t think any Las Vegas bookie could’ve predicted the odds on this one. The reaction prior to President Trump’s announcement was bad enough. But after President Trump’s press conference, you would’ve seriously thought the world had imploded, the sky had fallen, and the oceans disappeared.

Think I’m wrong? Read Kim’s post covering just a smidgen of the hysteria.

Needless to say, pointing out the fallacies in everyone’s arguments is falling on deaf ears. Mayors all across the country are blindly following the climate change/global warming-cooling non-scientific gurus off the cliff.

We will continue to lead. We are increasing investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. We will buy and create more demand for electric cars and trucks. We will increase our efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, create a clean energy economy, and stand for environmental justice. And if the President wants to break the promises made to our allies enshrined in the historic Paris Agreement, we’ll build and strengthen relationships around the world to protect the planet from devastating climate risks.

Yikes!! Cue the Chicken Littles!!

Others chimed in as well.

A former mayor, now governor (of my home state unfortunately) proffered his opinion:

“Abandoning this climate deal is like ripping off your parachute when you should be pulling the ripcord,” Hickenlooper said in a written statement Thursday. “America’s greatness has always been demonstrated by our moral leadership. Today, we break ranks with 190 nations who are working together to stop the worst effects of climate change, which the scientific community agrees would devastate the global economy and our planet, and the defense community agrees would destabilize vulnerable nations that have served as breeding grounds for international terrorism.”

Wow. I mean seriously, WOW. Michael Crichton, of Jurassic Park and ER fame, was right. The whole global warming deal is a money-making scam on a world-wide scale. And he had the facts and figures to prove it.

Who among our readers has read State of Fear? I have.

Crichton also makes the point that if we can so quickly debunk the Y2K fears…why are we bending over backwards in fear of the non-scientific climate change cadre? If anyone has the answer to that, please share.

Needless to say, REAL science and reality hasn’t stopped U.S. mayors and governors from jumping on the ‘FEAR THE CLIMATE!’ bandwagon. In fact, a new initiative/lobbying firm/trolling for $$ group has been formed, led by good ole Governor Jerry Brown.

“I don’t believe fighting reality is a good strategy, not for America, not for anybody,” he said. “So if Trump is going to be AWOL in this profoundly important human endeavor, then California and other states and other provinces throughout the world will step up.”

I find it humorous that California, whose green policies have shut down agriculture because of frogs and obscure wetland idiocy, wind energy because the transmission of it wasn’t “green” enough, and has a healthcare plan 2X larger than the state’s budget is ALL IN! on something that is going to cost the taxpayers more than they can bear with ZERO ROI.

Obama penned us in via signature to the Paris Accord by using the Treaty of Treaties – which Nixon inflicted upon us. That ensured we were stuck with the deal. A deal that would cripple this country economically and politically in numerous ways.

So, if states/mayors want to go forth and comply with a treaty that Congress never ratified and the current President is working to get us out of, then I certainly hope they are prepared to explain why our taxes will skyrocket, our innovation and entrepreneurship will suffer. All because they are choosing an ephemeral ’cause’ over economic growth, science, and technology.

  • GWB says:

The Paris accord was the biggest step forward on climate change that we’d taken in years.

Wow. Since it meant a supposed reduction in warming that you literally could not see (because the amount of reduction was an order of magnitude less than the rounding that the agencies do on temperatures) I have to think you’d consider that a pretty big FAILURE, then.

190 nations who are working together to stop the worst effects of climate change

Bullhockey! They’re not working to stop the effects but the mechanism, and it isn’t even the worst contributor, AND they’re not stopping crap. They’re just sucking up the money from the workers of the world to pad the mansions of the kleptocrats.

which the scientific community agrees would devastate the global economy and our planet

No, actually, most scientists don’t agree with that. Not economists, not actual climate scientists, not geologists, not anyone who is more of a scientist than an activist for globalism and progressivism.

and the defense community agrees would destabilize vulnerable nations

No, activists who were put in charge of the defense community claimed that, but real defense analysts believe nothing of the kind. And, certainly, most of the defense “community” thinks those claims are hurting our national defense.

why are we bending over backwards

Because we have learned to be sheep who must shut up and listen to our technocrats. It’s only the police who can keep you safe. It’s only doctors who can answer health questions. It’s only ‘scientists’ who can tell you about sciency stuff. SHUT UP! they said.

The exodus from California should be fun. Personally, I would require anyone resettling from California to sign a contract claiming they will not vote affirmatively for any candidates espousing positions of, nor measures similar to those put forward by, the Democrats in CA. Then I would back that requirement under Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution. (What the Democrats have erected in CA is anything but a republic.)
