Tucker On Trump On X

Fox News Channel held the first of the cycle Presidential debate for the 2024 Presidential Race in Wisconsin tonight. Since I have not liked the format of these network debates ever, I had less than zero interest in watching this one. Instead, I watch Tucker talk to President Donald Trump on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The debates are a clusterquark. The moderators control the clock and each candidate comes with preprogrammed zingers. The debate show is about as real as any of the Real Housewives of _________. Tucker and Trump both have scores to settle with Fox News so this might be fun. The interview took place at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Tucker and Trump first addressed the Fox in the room. Trump stated why would he be on stage and taking incoming from people with a zero percent chance. Of course, Trump got his licks in at the cable networks, including MSNBC. At six minutes in the numbers are insane, spiking above 50 million views. There was some kibitzing about the late and unlamented Jeffrey Epstein and Bill Barr. And, also the Democrats impeaching Trump twice and indicting him four times, as of this writing.

Remember that these numbers are worldwide:

While some of the Democrat trolls were kvetching that Tucker and Trump didn’t talk issues, they had a long discussion on the EPA and what the unelected, hack bureaucrats have done to our home appliances:

Naturally, Trump talked about the other (ahem) politicians. From the Boston Herald:

Almost 10 minutes before a rival spoke at the GOP debate, former President Donald Trump came out blasting away at all the “bullshit” that’s being thrown at him as he tops the primary polls.
In a pre-recorded interview with Tucker Carlson on X, the former Twitter platform, the Republican front-runner called out President Biden’s competency and said his top priority if elected will be tackling the border crisis.

On Biden, he said “he’s worse mentally than his is physically,” adding photos of the president on the beach is not a good look.
Trump predicted the Democrats “will have some kind of primary.” Vice President Kamala Harris or California Gov. Gavin Newsom would be in that race, Trump said. But he’d rather face Biden in the general election, he told Carlson.
On the border, Trump said it would be his top priority if he wins saying he’d send “hundreds of thousands of criminals” back to their home countries.
It was a polite give-and-take with Carlson steering the conversation toward China, D.C. institutions, GOP rivals, and if Trump is worried after four indictments if he’s concerned he’ll be “killed.”

“They are savage animals. They are really sick,” Trump said, alluding to Democrats out to lock him up.
Trump pivoted to say voters understand what’s happening to him. “I have never seen spirit like it is now,” the former president said. He later added: “I hold up rather well. The people see it’s a fraud. They see it.”

Here is the 46 minute full interview:

If you wanted adversarial in the vein of Chris Wallace, a subject of derision for both men, this was not the interview for you. I would love to see all of the hopefuls sit for this type of interview. Watch this one and make up your own mind. This is important.
