Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.
Happy Sunday, dear friends! And welcome to our Mother’s Day brunch. Mimosas as a first round and let’s toast to our mothers, present or living only in our memories. The table is groaning under a plethora of tasty offerings! Pass the plates and don’t miss the pain perdu with fresh strawberries. We have a lot to cover, dears, so let’s get to it. L’Chaim!

They NEVER judge fellow artists on things like politics, right?
It's been fascinating to watch mainstream liberal culture slowly boil every human quality down to politics

Since the Canadian Government “pays” for medical care, what’s wrong with it looking to improve the bottom line by encouraging patients to off themselves? And certainly, not to take “no” for an answer.
Fr. Larry Holland, 79, fractured his hip after falling in his bathroom on Christmas Day 2025 and subsequently went to Vancouver General Hospital to seek treatment for his injury, The B.C. Catholic, the official media outlet of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver, first reported. However, despite the priest’s assertion that his condition is not and never was fatal, he says a doctor had raised the possibility of him taking his own life through Canada’s taxpayer-funded and government-run Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program in the event his injury worsened.
The priest told the outlet that the doctor said to him that MAiD is “something they have to discuss with someone who’s been given a terminal diagnosis.” Holland had at the time known made his moral opposition to euthanasia — which Catholic doctrine explicitly forbids.
After weeks passed, a nurse would also offer MAiD to Holland
That’s some pretty morbid marketing.

These people are taking lessons from the “Diversity” crowd in rebranding so they can keep earning the big bucks being evil.
Doctors are able to use fraudulent or misleading medical codes in order to hide “transgender” procedures from insurance companies and regulators, allowing them to potentially bypass state bans on genital mutilation and chemical castration, according to a new report.
The report from medical watchdog group Do No Harm shows how doctors are able to use medical codes claiming things like generic endocrine care as stand-ins for so-called “gender-affirming” interventions for children — both allowing the children to receive the irreversible drugs and procedures and ensuring doctors get paid for doing so. It also details how pro-mutilation groups like the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) allegedly encourage doctors to do so.

Back in the old days, after we stabled our dinosaurs in the school lot and gathered our clay tablets, teachers were pretty insistent on us learning on to analyze speech and writing. A political speech or an advertisement for a new car, we were to identify the surface message then dig down and suss out the manipulation.

The most Green Party story I’ve ever read.
The Greens reparations officer, Antoinette Fernandez, who supports the idea of Britain paying trillions of pounds in slavery reparations, is descended from a Nigerian royal family that traded slaves.
One of them owned 1,400 slaves. pic.twitter.com/K3nfZdW7o5

The take on the different countries is spot on. The poor guy going to Sweden is hysterical🤣
Can you think of any countries and what they are known for that would fit into this? pic.twitter.com/f9Gi0tXwgw— Linda (@LndamyDark) May 3, 2026
