For those who don’t remember, The American Enterprise Institute Club of Middlebury College invited sociologist Dr. Charles Murray to speak at the college in a question and answer forum. Self-described Liberal Professor Allison Stanger agreed to appear with Dr. Murray.

Some (looked like a small group to me) students became an ugly mob. The students’ stenciled signs and chants accused Dr. Murray of racism, fascism, homophobia and hatred. The venue was changed. The mob found that out and became uglier and more violent. Professor Stanger was attacked. Her hair was pulled and her neck was injured by whiplash. Bill O’Reilly reported on it:

Personal note here: Send your children to trade schools. Don’t send them to an expensive college. Let them learn something useful. My son attended a wonderful trade school and graduated with a job. He never once had time to join a mob.

The people will likely never be gainfully employed.

Two articles appeared late yesterday on the subject of the Middlebury College mob. One by the very professor who was injured in the New York Times. The second article is by Dr. Thomas Sowell published by Creators.com actually makes sense.

In her New York Times article, Stanger says that we must not call these college students coddled. Why are they angry then? President Donald Trump, of course. Here’s a quote:

“Our 230-year constitutional democracy depends on it, especially when our current president is blind to the evils he has unleashed. I know that many students felt they were standing up to protect marginalized people who have been demeaned or even threatened under the guise of free speech.”

It could not possibly have anything to do with falsehoods spread by Professor Stanger’s colleagues at Middlebury College. Nah. Stanger does acknowledge:

that she spotted several fellow faculty members participating in the ruckus in order to shut down the event, professors she said “who had publicly acknowledged they had not read anything Dr. Murray had written.”

Ah yes. Ignorance is a great starting point.

To shine light on the darkness of ignorance and put a glaring spotlight on the ugly mob, we turn to Dr. Thomas Sowell to calm our fears.

Many people seem shocked at the recent savagery of a mob of students at Middlebury College, who rioted to prevent Charles Murray from addressing a student group who had invited him to speak. They also inflicted injuries requiring hospitalization on a woman from the faculty who was with him.

“Savagery of a mob”. First, one must call a thing by it’s proper name in order to tell the truth about it.

The moral dry rot in academia — and beyond — goes far deeper than student storm troopers at one college.

“Moral dry rot”. Entrenched socialist ideology added to tenure equals “moral dry rot”. Only the very young can believe what these professors spew. All of these old, tired ideas have been tried. The end result of these old ideas is death, destruction and moral vacancy.

This cultural death rattle will continue. Student mobs will shut down free speech at the behest of frightened, tenured professors sitting on their ivory perches with perks for life. Students will take out loans for $61,000 a year to graduate in a field with no opportunities. These students will spend the rest of their lives in low paying jobs, begging to be cleared of the loans and blaming Donald Trump.

This is how Western Civilization dies.

What? That *he* unleashed? So, what explained their stupidity and riotous behavior *BEFORE* the election?

“who had publicly acknowledged they had not read anything Dr. Murray had written.”

Yeah, this is standard for your SJWs. How do you describe yourself as ‘woke’ if you’re simply following someone else’s lead?

Only the very young can believe what these professors spew.

No. The old believe it, too – when you don’t believe in history, you can’t even use your own past experience to inform the present. It’s the greatest evil perpetrated on the ‘educated’ – to teach them that history has no bearing on the present (and to teach them lies when they bother to teach history at all).

The people will likely never be gainfully employed.

Well, no. But, as someone once said, “Fast food ain’t a career, knucklehead.”
