The SCOTUS leak of the Alito draft is infidelity of the highest order says Justice Clarence Thomas. What this leak has done, as we’ve pointed out several times is that the trust in our courts has been shattered due to politics.
What trust has been shattered? That of the law confidentiality between a jurist and their clerk. That of the confidentiality between the court and all those who have cases before said court. All communications regarding a case should be held inviolate. No leaks whatsoever. Yet it did happen this year. A law clerk, who has yet to be fired and barred from any and all future law work, is still supposedly working at SCOTUS..
You know what? After reviewing the evidence, Justice Thomas is absolutely correct.
“When you lose that trust, especially in the institution that I’m in, it changes the institution fundamentally. You begin looking over your shoulder,” he said, according to USA Today. He also said that, like infidelity, “you can explain it, but you can’t undo it.”
“I do think that what happened at the court is tremendously bad. I wonder how long we’re going to have these institutions at the rate we’re undermining them,” Thomas also said, per a reporter’s tweet.
Exactly. I cannot tell you how furious I am that some clerk, some employee of the United State Supreme Court decided to put politics above ethics. And therefore undermine every current and future judicial decision. Because that is exactly what that jackass did. EVERY single decision SCOTUS has made and will make will forever be under the leak b/c politics microscope. Justice Alito understandably didn’t and wouldn’t go into specifics about the leak.
“This is a subject I told myself I wasn’t going to talk about today regarding, you know — given all the circumstances,” Alito replied.
After a pause, he added: “The court right now, we had our conference this morning, we’re doing our work. We’re taking new cases, we’re headed toward the end of the term, which is always a frenetic time as we get our opinions out.”
Folks, think about it long and hard. Every case, every court decision involves a serious degree of confidentiality. Those ETHICS keep the decision making solely under the purview of the judge in order to attempt to make the final judgement completely impartial.
Except that if Democrats have their way, Justice Thomas and his wife will cave to the woke mob.

According to some in the know.. the SCOTUS leak hurts because the draft is shoddy work.
Quite frankly, the Democrats are shoddy work.
It doesn’t matter WHO the clerk was. The fact is, he or she completely violated judicial ethics on every level. This was ethical infidelity on the highest level. That person should be identified and FIRED.
Think about this folks. A case goes before the Supreme Court, one you may not be invested in. Therefore, the outcome, as long as it doesn’t impact you, is fine.
HOWEVER, what about the tines where family is part of a SCOTUS case? Wouldn’t YOU want the details kept under oath? I sure as hell would! And so should you!
That’s a major concern that we should all be sounding the alarm on. Someone at SCOTUS violated attorney client privilege on the highest level.
How come we aren’t seeing the answer to that?
Justice Thomas is correct. The information that was leaked is wrong and is most certainly infidelity on the highest of levels.

Over at Ace of Spades, one commenter had a good solution.
Lock all of the clerks in a room. Explain to them that they have four hours to get the perp to confess. If no one confesses, they all get fired. They also will get no references for jobs. If any firm hires them, that firm will not be able to argue before the court. At worst there is mass slaughter in the room.
The scandal is that CJ Roberts has not identified the leaker. This should have been accomplished within 24 hours of the leak.
No surprise there…Roberts is no Conservative
I bet they know already who did it, but you know, politics. The crazies would rather destroy the institution rather than lose honorably by the process. Isn’t that right wize latina!
