Spy Drones Gifted By Chinese To U.S. Police

A Chinese company, Da Jiang Innovations (DJI), has gifted 43 law enforcement agencies in 22 states with spy drones to help surveil the population of the United States during this pandemic. What on Earth could possibly go wrong with that?

With apologies to Laocoon, we need to rewrite the phrase: “Do not trust the horse, Trojans. Whatever it is, I fear the Greeks even when they bring gifts.” The new phrase should be, “Do not trust the Chinese, World. Whatever they give you is going to be really bad. It ain’t no gift.” These 43 police departments in 22 states just blithely accepted spy drones from the same people that gave us Covid-19. Just took them in. That’s like Kevin Bacon in the movie Animal House saying, “Thank you, sir. May I have another?” when he is being paddled, in his underwear.

Fox News Channel reported the story:

Drones being used around the country to enforce coronavirus lockdowns were donated by a company with ties to the Chinese government, raising concerns that the nation many blame for allowing the virus to become a pandemic has sneaked a powerful espionage tool into the skies above its economic rival.

You and I know that cameras are watching us everywhere, in stores, on the streets and from satellites way above. Police using drones would be bad enough, but Chicom spy drones? Are these people stupid and/or drunk on their new-found power? Yes.

Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer, has never met a power she wouldn’t love to grab. She has got to be positively orgasmic over the fact that the police in Battle Creek are using the “donated” spy drones on her citizens:

Battle Creek Lt. Matt Robinson said the drones are coming at a critically important time, as the state begins to see declining numbers of COVID-19 infections.

“The drones give us a lot more capabilities and also not have the face-to-face contact with people,” Robinson said.

He also assured the public that the drones will not be used to spy on the public.”

Wrong-o, douche canoe.

It’s not like the Department of Homeland Security hasn’t warned about security issues with Chinese spy drones. Oh, wait, they did about a year ago:

The government is concerned commercial drones made in China and used in the US are being used to steal data or infect networks with malware, according to CyberScoop and Politico.

An advisory against using these drones would include Chinese drone maker DJI’s extensive portfolio, including the DJI Spark. and the DJI Mavic Air, which CNET has reviewed as being “a folding 4K mini drone that’s close to perfect.”

The reported warning follows networking equipment from Chinese tech giant Huawei being blacklisted by the US government and Huawei essentially banned via an executive order from Trump last week, and Google removing Android updates from Huawei phones.

It’s not just worries about the surveillance drones spying on us for the local constabulary, the Chinese are collecting the data, even if they say they are not, because the Chinese lie like a rug.

This video from the Financial Times explains it well:

I like this take:

Actually, my dear non-violent husband said the same thing yesterday at lunch, when we discussed the spy drones.

It’s not just the bootlickers who are the problem. Too many of our citizens are willing to relinquish at least three of the five rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. When you can’t sit in your own car in your church parking lot, you have bowed down before your masters. You are not the agent of your actions.

If the 22 states and 43 agencies believed in The Constitution and had ever read anything of a historical nature, they would have left the spy drone boxes unopened and returned to sender. They would have known a Trojan Horse when they saw the Chinese writing on the box.
