School Union Boss Randi Weingarten Doesn’t Remember Much Of Anything

Randi Weingarten, the American Federation of Teachers union boss was grilled today about the school unions response and well, she doesn’t seem to know or remember much of anything.

Literally at one point she claimed that since she’s 65, her memory can be faulty.

I admit I was LMAO at that assertion given her favorite dude, Joe Biden just announced he’s running again and HE is 80 freaking years old!

That said, you and I definitely know that the school unions were all up in the CDC’s grill from day ONE of the school closures! As we found out in 2021, the unions and the CDC were working hand in glove on how to “safely reopen” the schools while keeping them closed.

The American Federation of Teachers lobbied the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on, and even suggested language for, the federal agency’s school-reopening guidance released in February.

The powerful teachers union’s full-court press preceded the federal agency putting the brakes on a full re-opening of in-person classrooms, emails between top CDC, AFT and White House officials show.

The emails were obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by the conservative watchdog group Americans for Public Trust and provided to The Post.

The documents show a flurry of activity between CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, her top advisors and union officials — with Biden brass being looped in at the White House — in the days before the highly-anticipated Feb. 12 announcement on school-reopening guidelines.

“Thank you again for Friday’s rich discussion about forthcoming CDC guidance and for your openness to the suggestions made by our president, Randi Weingarten, and the AFT,” wrote AFT senior director for health issues Kelly Trautner in a Feb 1 email — which described the union as the CDC’s “thought partner.”

With teachers sending mock obituaries to principals, superintendents, school boards, and the media. Other teachers did asinine safety dances in protest of schools reopening. So for Randi to assert age and faulty memory??!

Let me tell you all something. We as parents and grandparents are seeing in REAL-TIME the exponential learning loss and mental health issues of our kids because the unions advocated for the schools to stay closed. We’ve written about extensively about the issues our kids are and will be facing in the long-term.

Oh, but there is more. Much much more to Randi’s ‘I don’t remember much’ testimony today.

That’s gonna leave a mark!

Meanwhile, Randi admitted that the Biden transition team reached out to the union to get “guidance” on how to reopen the schools safely.

President Biden’s staff asked the American Federation of Teachers union for advice on how to reopen COVID-affected schools before the commander-in-chief even took office, union president Randi Weingarten told lawmakers Wednesday.

“We were talking to the Biden transition team before he was sworn into office,” the 65-year-old testified to the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

“Did they reach out to you?” asked subcommittee chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio).

“The Biden transition team reached out to us,” Weingarten said.

“Did that include the next CDC director or anybody that went to work for CDC?” Wenstrup followed up.

It went so well that there were schools that didn’t reopen full time until fall of 2021! And some schools STILL are keeping the masks and silent lunches in place!

Mary Katherine Hamm has a great thread on Randi’s testimony and here are a couple of gems.

WOW. Just … WOW.

Meanwhile, Corey DeAngelis has a helpful thread reminding everyone of all the efforts of the teachers union to keep schools closed.

Which is hysterical given Randi’s opening statement before the committee today.

On behalf of the 1.7 million members of the American Federation of Teachers, I am glad to appear before you today to set the record straight on the faulty premise of this hearing. That premise—that the AFT sought to keep schools closed longer than necessary and that we had inappropriate influence over the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance for reopening schools—is patently false.

We are asking you to help us help students recover from the effects of the pandemic— learning loss, trauma and sadness. The unrelenting attacks on teachers over pandemic- era school closings must end as well.

Educators asked repeatedly for two things—a safe workplace and the resources they and their students needed to succeed. We knew that safely returning students to in-person learning was vital for students’ well-being, for families to function, and for the economy to recover. But often, because the Trump administration and others politicized safety and undermined science, we were working in a climate of chaos, fear and misinformation as the pandemic surged in wave after unpredictable wave.

Oh, yes indeed. Let’s blame Trump for it all. Except he was GONE from office months after the Covid pandemic started! Are you seeing a pattern here with anyone associated with the Biden Administration??

No matter what, Randi will always claim she doesn’t remember much and will ALWAYS pivot to blaming Trump for the unions actions during the Covid panic. Kids? What kids. Parents, they are warmongers according to Randi! They don’t matter. Only the unions do.

UPDATE: Randi posts a tweet compilation defending herself, but locks down replies. Gee, I wonder why?

“Look, I’m 65 years old. I don’t remember everything any more.”
You’re saying you’re “Past your prime”? (Nah, I know you’re just lying.)

    the CDC’s “thought partner.”
There’s a word in there that I don’t think applied to any of this.

That premise … is patently false.
So, where is the recommendation for a charge of perjury before Congress?

a safe workplace and the resources they and their students needed to succeed.
    1) Teachers were never in danger of getting Wuhan Flu from their kids.
    2) People who are supposedly teaching our children should not be hysterical ninnies, should they?
    3) And note that once again it’s about MOAR MONEY! It’s always about more money with these folks – a strong indicator we should be telling them to go to h***.

because the Trump administration and others politicized safety and undermined science
Oh, go f*** yourself up the *** with a pineapple, sideways.

Randi is a prime example of why right-to-work states exist and why all “public sector” unions should be abolished. PERIOD.

The teacher unions need to be destroyed or stripped down to where they never get this level of power ever again.

  • Robin H says:

Not a bad deal for them all around. They got paid to essentially not work for 2 years, and now they cry poverty. They’ll suck up money to expand the work force to teach the stuff they should have taught before. Every kid will be deemed “special ed” along with the inflated costs.
